Thread: Best service to transfer and sync files

Best service to transfer and sync files

I'm looking for a service like dropbox that has:
    • large capacity (minimum 1TB)
    • sync changes automatically
    • desktop client (and android if possible)
    • have a light policy against copyright (going to store in it tutorials, videos, books all pirated). I will be the only one accessing them though

I am going to pay for it of course. Which is why I want the best.
    Thanks

And I'm also looking for somekind of service that if I don't login to something, or don't send something it'll act by sending files to an email address. Something like a will after death. But I need this taken care of.

I need it there all the time.

I don't think any other service has a policy where it's ok to "host" illegal content.

But I'm not actually sharing the data like those file hosters. It's only me.

They still need to host your illegal content on their own servers, which makes them accessory. Hence why it's against their rules.
It's not just sharing that is illegal, having it is enough.

If you're caught with someone else's drugs that they asked you to hold on to for a while for them to pick up later, you'll still get in trouble. Same thing.

Pan Baidu gives two terabytes of space, although the site and client are all in Chinese.

I don't think copyright would be a problem for personal use (you won't draw any attention by not sharing links, and for all they know, the content has been acquired legally), but you can try some sort of encryption.

    I use yunpan(2TB) baidu(2TB) weiyun(1TB) hive(unlimited but sharing restrictions) mail.ru(no longer has 1TB free) chomikuj(unlimited but sharing restrictions).
    Best ones: mail.ru baidu.
All of them have restrictions of some sort but no copyright filters , best thing is to archive them anyway to change the hash just in case,
no encryption needed I think, unless u paranoid .
You need to activate those TBs check online for tutorial.
All of them have sync and have permanent cloud storage free.
The services are from highly reputable companies except hive and chomikuj.
These service no longer hold their popular offers that are advertised on the net like: yunpan -36TB.
There was recently a rhetoric on the Chinese services that they were against copyrighted material etc. but nothing happened to my files.
My personal choice: BAIDU (u can make multiple acc ofc): you can view all your documents, music, videos in the browser, you can remote download from torrents ,
ftp, direct links(http) right in the cloud (they have filters for remote torrents so you can't get everything)
You can upload/download large files with client only. Upload speeds are not very good.
Criticism : Mail.ru introduced new restrictions on uploading file size, yunpan has very slow up speed and streaming videos/music in client has constant stutters, hive has slow dow speed and restricts remote dow from torrents, chomikuj looks shady.
    Didn't try userscloud.com yet.

I'm in shock. 2TB free? Or am I missing something here?
    I'm still in those 500MB-free-storage-days.

Baidu and most others seem to be asking for SMS verification though.

I have them over a year now and no problems.
    You need to activate them.
I would hurry up too since weiyun and yunpan canceled their 10TB and 36TB free offer for new users so who knows?!
Restrictions at baidu are 4GB single file upload limit and many simultaneous uploads.(no limits on remote uploads from torrents, I got remuxes at 15GB)
At yunpan depends on the rank I have 7GB single file upload limit .
    Chomikuj allows any file size.
Hive doesn't have client so no sync , my bad.
No limits/day as far as I know.

Storage space is cheaper by the day, most people won't use all of it, and abusers are dealt with. That's how Outlook.com, for example, can provide unlimited capacity on their free accounts.

PS: I remember my 2 megabyte Hotmail account, and later on, that trick to upgrade it to 100 by setting a USA home address.

Yes but legally I am entitled to whatever ammount they advertise, right? So when you say abusers, do you mean people that actually use all space?
