    Distribution Release: Clonezilla Live 2.4.2-10

A newer version of the Debian based cloning iso was recently released on the Clonezilla website. Here's the scoop on this very well known open source tool.

Steven Shiau has announced the availability of a new version of Clonezilla Live. The Clonezilla distribution is a Debian-based live disc for manipulating, copying and restoring images of hard disks and disk partitions. The new release, Clonezilla Live 2.4.2-10, offers bug fixes for restoring partitions on machines with UEFI support and cloning swap partitions on disks with GPT layouts. There are also a number of new features and package upgrades: "The underlying GNU/Linux operating system was upgraded. Here's some of the bug fix news from Sourceforge:

This release of Clonezilla live (2.4.2-10) includes major enhancements and bug fixes.
    ENHANCEMENTS and CHANGES
    - The underlying GNU/Linux operating system was upgraded. This release is based on the Debian Sid repository (as of 2015/Jun/08).
    - Linux kernel was updated to 4.0.2-1. The default union file system has been changed to overlay, therefore if you edit boot parameter manually, you have to use "union=overlay". No more using "union=aufs".
    - Switched to use systemd instead of sysvinit.

That is good as now pretty much all is systemctl. Most of the distros as I've personally noticed are moving towards that direction. Rolling release distros have been using that system for a long time and most recently, Ubuntu went that way as well when they released Vivid Vervid.
