Thread: The Android Thread

    Oh boy... new issue...
My internal storage is getting smaller, 300MB of free space out of 2.17GB. How do i find out which app is talking the most space? And how do I move it? I've been using luckypatcher to move apps.

There are some apps like Sygic Navigation that I moved to SD card but the maps and resources folder remained on the phone's storage.

And how exactly do you root your phone? Do you lose any data in the process? I have Samsung S5, and I believe it's not rooted!

There are many methods of rooting the most common is keeping a zip file in sd card which is executed when you restart in developer mode and it gives root access, as far as I know normally data isn't wiped with root only when you install custom ROM data is wiped.

see this link Yoco for you device

    Samsung Galaxy S 5 - XDA Forums

Read this thread for extra info for rooting you phone,do check which variant you have before rooting.

Today I have learned that the generic hierarchical is actually the ext4 linux filesystem as seen by the MTP protocol.
I was started to think it was a crappy filesystem made for compatibility. Still, transfer speeds are terrible.

Yoco you have to make sure, you dont trigger the KNOX counter, once youve done that, theres no going back. There's a method to root without doing that, tough, I rooted mine without triggering it. Good luck!

One more thing about my S5 phone. Since purchase, on my keyboard I'm missing our letters č,š,ž. On my previous phone S2 I had a keyboard Swype which was amazing and had all these letters. I don't know how to get them on this phone!

Swype is available in the google play store, here: https://play.google.com/store/apps/d...wype.dtc&hl=en

Might I also recommend for you to try out Fleksy? I think it's superior by far. https://play.google.com/store/apps/d...leksy.kb&hl=en

    What about SwiftKey https://play.google.com/store/apps/d...swiftkey&hl=en ?
That's what I'm using at the moment but for some reason I find it harder than the basic keyboard.

If I buy Swype, is it mine forever or do I need to buy some other versions as well?

I'm currently using that one, but Swype is kinda better for me

Purchases are linked to your google account, so it's yours forever, on every android you'll ever get. Updates included.
Are you sure you had swype on your other phone? it's never been free thus if you had it, you should be able to just download it already.

    @anon or anybody:
Where may I find a huge pack of chiptunes to use as ringtones? I'm interested in a pack and not a single tune.

I have some I can upload for you, but only one of them is in MP3 format. You'll have to convert the tunes you like manually. Guess the market for those who want to use chiptunes as ringtones isn't too big.

What do you use? All the people I've met use real music as their ringtone but they are so unprofessional in my opinion.
Whatever happend to a 30-sec relaxing and soothing sound? Which is what i am looking for.
