The whole franchise would have been better off with either one of the following options. In my opinion it would consist of:
    1. Forget the franchise and let it drop. Some franchises do not so good if the franchise just keeps adding more films. They get lame.
    2. Forget Arnold. Find another actor.

Or at least show humans winning against skynet and putting it all to rest they are just trying to extract as much money as from the franchise and realizing that T2 was the most loved they did a weird reboot/mod I do actually hope it's good but in all probability it won't be

It probably won't be, but it will most likely still be awesome to watch either way just cause it's terminator!

I think it's gonna be awesome. No way they would ruin this franchise. It's Terminator and Arnie after all.

True dat bro the thing is I desperately want it to be good but also scared that they might ruin it yet hoping at the same time for it to be even more awesome

My views on the Terminator movies.

First movie: good. An original plot which was finely executed.

Second movie: excellent. Schwarzenegger works so much better in the good side, as a robot that can learn from humans (in a non-corny way) and ultimately sacrifices himself (that scene, and the final thumbs up, are so moving) to finish his mission, instead of a terminator machine walking and speaking like he has a stick up his ass. This sequel actually outperforms its predecessor, something which doesn't happen too often.

Third movie: good. "Judgement Day can't be averted, only postponed", but that directly contradicts "no fate but what we make" from the previous two movies1. Still, it had conflict and action (and an even more downer ending), which is in line with what I liked in the first two.

Fourth movie (Salvation): bad; all I can remember is that it was mostly a letdown.

I'm eager to watch this one, since according the trailer, it goes back to the roots.

1 = this was a side effect of hiring new writers to be able to keep the franchise going. The Skynet edition of Terminator 2, which Sazzy recommended to me some time back, shows a deleted alternate ending: Judgement Day is completely avoided, Skynet's creation and the war do not take place, and John Connor ends up being a senator. James Cameron apparently felt that was too happy and deterministic given the rest of the movie and swapped it, but either way, things were meant to end at that point.
"I just remembered something that happened a long time ago."

Third movie good and Fourth bad? What drugs are you taking and can I have some?
Salvation wasn't the best movie ever, agreed, but it was still better than numberino three, imho.
