    RIP Rarbg

It was the main international torrent site I used for films and tv series. Liked the humorous comments section.

I didn't know the covid had had such an impact on the team.

The other reason given (inflation) is likely to concern many other (torrent) site...

Dark day... expectedly, TorrentFreak is covering this.

    https://torrentfreak.com/iconic-torr...s-stop-230531/
    https://torrentfreak.com/rarbg-over-...online-230601/

Alternatives may include ArenaBG and Zamunda, both private but open for signups. DHT search engines should have indexed a sizable amount of their magnet links, and the second article above has details on what's apparently an unofficial archiving effort. Given RARBG's massive size, I don't see any new sites coming up to pick the slack right away; hopefully I'll be wrong, but be wary of copycats looking to capitalize on this to fish for passwords and spread malware.

I loved Rarbg because the site was clean and easy to navigate, plus I could get seasons of tv shows in one torrent. I just downloaded night before they shut down two tv shows!

I think the fact many who had access to both RARBG and private trackers often chose the former should speak for itself. As it has so often happened (remember the SPARKS bust? KAT? Torrentz?), the community will reshape and recover given enough time, but right now the impact and vacuum left behind are big and visible.

RARBG Shutdown is a Major Blow to the Pirate Ecosystem

Specially now that Netflix is cracking on password shared accounts, I believe people are coming back strong to movie downloading.

Cheggit is down, maybe for good. All you get now is an advertising for some porn site.

Cheggit is too hard to maintain for a busy person.
Harsh, but fair. Let's keep in mind they were among the oldest trackers still operating, and had already managed to cheat death once.

For what it's worth, the one they're recommending (BootyTape) is legit, was already affiliated with them, and will likely receive a large increase in activity after this, so it's worth checking out.

Everything a-okay here too. If you suspect DNS problems, try adding this to your hosts file.

    Code:
    104.21.69.246 filelist.io www.filelist.io
    172.67.216.18 reactor.filelist.io
    93.115.24.150 irc.filelist.io
    149.56.37.62 donate.filelist.io
    104.248.245.38 send.filelist.io
Note the flro.org domain is no longer owned by them and should not be used.

I think I am having a serious blocker here. Tried 3 different networks (including phone network), flushing DNS caches and different OSs. Finally tested tunneling to a server outside the country, aaaaaaaaand it worked. Well this gonna be annoying to resolve. Thanks for the hints @anon.
