I discovered another "great thing" about living in this country: the prices of eyeglasses. Weather corrective or not, prices are at about 1000% higher than online stores located outside of the country. Now, this wasn't true a few years back, and it's something recent in which all companies are involved.

Now you understand why cross-border shopping trips (Argentina, Norway, Canada) and reverse importing (Japan) are a thing.

However, health-related products are like consumables and safety equipment: don't be mesmerized by low prices and exercise great caution when ordering them from abroad. You don't want eyeglasses that make you blind, and your legal recourse against scammers is basically inexistent.

I aim to please. Make sure to hydrate, and don't set the fan next to you at 110% no matter how tempting it may be... the usual stuff.

I understand the risks, but there is little choice. You see, it's?not just the overprice that you have to worry here. In the store you cannot find the right size, they only have listed the most common sizes, and those that you actually need. The staff do not have patience to discuss what you actually and more-likely to say anything to make you buy, regardless if they are a match for you or not. They simply do not care. It's a job, and it must be done, one way or the other.

This is just a test to see if they re any good. I've ordered a pair from one of these online stores. If it works, it works, if not.. at least the price was cheap.

People can not be expected to pay shy of 800 euros every year for a pair of eye glasses. If you buy the cheapest ones in the store, you know what you get? Durable, yet extremely heavy frames and lenses. The price is not for durability, but for the weight.

I have a feeling these will work fine, and I'll prove it once they get here.

I've actually bought some cheap-o internet glasses as well. They're my favorite pair and I prefer them over the 800 euro pair I got at the store before I had my current pair. I wouldn't buy pills or anything, but you'll notice discomfort with glasses soon enough without doing permanent damage.

    I don't understand the lingo; what's a pill?

Discomfort from the lenses I assume? Why is that?
