I have to say that in all the time that we've known each other, I have understood your writings very little or none at all. I don't understand how can you live outside of the materialistic world - everything around is is materialistic: from the water than you drink down to the clothes and place of residence. Everything is bought with money. I wish I could uproot mylife and just move to the woods - because only then will I achieve what you are saying: non-materialistic world: nature's food, clothes, and shelter.

right now you're experiencing life in the materialistic world, which does not mean that you're actually located in that world, just like when watching (experiencing) a movie you're not located in the movie
similarly, you play characters in computer games, but you're not that character in the game, you're located outside of the game

life in the materialistic world is comparable to a complex interactive movie, where your choices (while viewing/experiencing/living) influence the outcome of the movie and what happens to your character in the movie - the same applies to all other viewers (living beings) of the movie, which takes place in this universe

this was the inspiration for the movie 'the matrix', where people were trapped inside 'the interactive movie' thinking their experiences in the matrix represented reality

so who are you and where are you located?
you are a spirit soul (aka soul, conscious being, consciousness) experiencing life (as a character) in the materialistic world, while located outside of that world (in the spiritual realm)

that is why this materialistic world is called 'an illusion', or mayā, according to vedic terminology

non-materialistic world: nature's food, clothes, and shelter.
'materialistic' means 'made from matter' or 'built out of matter' or 'consisting of matter' or 'a part of the materialistic world'; thus natural, artificial, original, modified and manufactured items are all materialistic; the human body is also materialistic, even thoughts and emotions are materialistic

I'd love to have a barbecue with all of you

Early this month I made a steak for myself and it ended up catching fire, but damage was minimal and it was still delicious!

I don't think it will ever be possible. Not unless one of us actually succeeds in life (i.e gets rich). Besides, in 10 more years we'll forget about each other.

You don't need to be Rockefeller to buy a plane ticket and book a hotel

But that's like ten years from now

It's about what are we going to do when we get there. You see anon, if I ever come to your neck of the woods, I also need money to do some activities with you. Everything costs money: say we go bowling, we go to a pub and drink, or go to the fairground, or go watch a movie, or go to the beach, or you show me around the city. It's like a holiday and it takes a lot of money.

I'd like to propose a test while we're on this subject:
How much of your monthly income goes to food (in percentage)?

Currently, my income is pretty shit and I spend about 50% of my income to food. The rest is to be spent on monthly bills, clothes, and other necessities. I only buy stuff when I get some money that does not have a purpose. When you are in my situation, you can't go anywhere.

And you can't go on a holiday on a whim... but you can plan and save for it, which is what I was going at. If you have no money whatsoever to stash at the end of the month, I'd say you're into more trouble than not being able to attend an hypothetical meetup - the first unexpected spending you come across will throw you off-balance.

Anyway, knowing how this forum works, I think the biggest problem would be getting all of us to propose and agree on a date and place.
