Hey anon, can you take some screenshots of classical applications like disk defragmenter and disk cleanup?
Looking for something like http://www.putergeek.com/scandisk_de...ag_working.gif but at a higher resolution and better quality. Would make me very happy.
Of course the screenshot should be taken when in operation (show percentage, etc.)
I have a virtual machine with Windows 95 and most optional components installed, but I'm not sure how to make screenshots have "higher resolution and better quality"... do you want me to maximize the disk defragmenter?
Back then 1024x768 was what 1080p is now.
"I just remembered something that happened a long time ago."
That's exactly the quality I am looking for. The one I gave you was 500x600 or something.1024x768
Try to mimic the above picture if possible.
Yes, please.do you want me to maximize the disk defragmenter?
Anyone has any idea why my USB 3 keys transfer speed is so low? It always starts with over 100 Mbps and quickly falls to ~10-15Mbps. They're all in NTFS. Does anything have to do with that I plug them in front instead of back?
From my experience, it'll always be slower in the front than in the back. It's just the way the southbridge is built.
But your specific problem has nothing to do with the ports used. What manufacturer/model the usb key is? If you got it cheap, then you already have your answer.
The one i Most use is SanDisk Ultra 32GB.

How do I check for this option?

I doubt actual (affordable) sticks will reach usb3 speeds soon. It's mostly a selling point.
Actual external hard drives will, but a stick? Ehh. Probably paying an arm and a leg for it.
If you get your self one of those SATA-to-USB bridge USB sticks then you might reach USB 3.0 speeds.
I do with my Corsair GTX with 256GB. I mostly bought this for my support needs. Small files are transfered equally fast as big files. One of these can boot a full-blown windows os and play full-hd media.
@Sazzy
Any high-quality stick will be starting at 100 bucks and up. And all of them in that price range supports 3.0 but depends on the computer as well.
@Yoco
Download Crystal Disk Mark
And do 2 tests by clicking on ALL button. Once test with 1GB, and other with 50MB. this will help us see where the issue lies.

I get these results on my SanDisk 32Gb
Well, the USB stick is OK. Technically, you should write to it with 1MB/sec when transfering small files and a max of 20MB/sex when transfering large files.
So starting with 100MB and dropping to 10MB sound ok as that is it's real speed.
