^ this. I can't help watching them anyway though (fast and furious), knowing I'll be disappointed and still end up disappointed :/ I'm guessing this will be very similar. Game <-> Movie things just don't work out well most of the time :(

That's absolutely correct. In my opinion the only time they kinda succeeded was with the first Silent Hill the movie. Second was crap.

these kinda worked (as good as it gets regarding the sub-genre?):

Street Fighter (1994) silly but fun
Lara Croft: Tomb Raider (2001) lesser action/adventure, passable, part 2 fails
Resident Evil (2002) decent horror, other parts fail
Doom (2005) bearable
Silent Hill (2006) 'cause alpacino said so

other:

* Halo Wars (2009) unofficial movie-like in-game cut-scenes collection, works better than actual halo movies

'Films with plots centered on video games':

Tron (1982) dated graphics, unusual, still works
WarGames (1983) juvenile, family-friendly
The Last Starfighter (1984) was ok, if i'm not mistaken
Tron: Legacy (2010) very good sequel

yea. that would b good.. everytime it happens to me.. I haven't seen a single movie that I love in cinema.. I seen them on laptop.. trailers seems to do d magic good these days.. n all the hype that publicity creates.. too bad I always end up disappointing in theatre ..in worst cases I either sleep or leave the cinema inbetween..

And tron 2010 is a sequel? I never knew.. gotta watch d 1st part.. I loved this movie.. good plot n something entirely different

Just do what I do, don't watch too much trailers.
I start out by checking out the posters. The ones I like, I read the short info. If that seems really interesting, I will not watch any trailers or read any more about it until i see it in the theatre. Movies are a lot better that way as you don't have high hopes.

Not too many short infos make me want to go to the movies either, so it's still good for my wallet as well

If it seems semi interesting, i'll watch a trailer or two.

Just remember, the trailer contains the movie's best bits! It's actually one huge spoiler.

How can I check for my cores if they're being fully used? For instance, if I run a game, I wanna see if the game is using all my cores.

Just check in windows task manager, I guess.. (Enable logical cores)

Just so you know, you can't force a game to run on more cores than it's programmed to use. For instance, most games won't run on more than 4 cores to start with. Older games might just even run on only 1 core.

There's a list, but it's huge and can't be sorted. Doing a quick scan, Germany and the US take up more than half the forum's visitors. And we've had one from Vatican City
