I once tried a setup like yours and also a double-height horizontal one, but switched back eventually, couldn't get used to them.

Don't be so salty, dude. Either use it, or don't. MS is the only one of the big companies at current time that is trying hard to please people. Both in Windows land as in the developer community.
Google, Apple, Facebook... yeah.

I've decided to turn over a new leaf and giveaway all my invites on the very place I have received them: tracker invite forums.
So far I've given away 30 invites within 1 week. People seem to not cheat and are generally respectable, I like that, though I cannot expect it as I myself am a cheater.
Maybe the torrent world was better off without us cheaters strangling it. Sometimes I think I'm not doing good for always cheating but at least I don't cause problems to my inviter(s) like other people do.
I'll tell you something else, when I get in what.cd, in maximum 1 month from now, I will never cheat there. I've had many accounts and got disabled everytime for cheating and to think of all those people I've left without invite priviledges... just wrong man. I can never make it up to them, sadly. Out of respect for my future inviter.
I have an arrangement with some guy that keeps his PC running all the time and connection speed of 1GB, that should be sufficient to maintain a good ratio there.

Well, the solution to that is pretty easy
Best of luck with What.cd. Having access to a gigabit connection means you only need to be a good strategist and have some free time (as opposed to being an excellent strategist and having tons of free time to look after your ratio like it's a newborn baby).

I'd be okay if it weren't for the fact I keep getting way more tired than usualI recently changed my routine and basically take a long walk before going to work, which amounts to 12 km every day. That may be the reason.
