Can relate. We faced similar problems multiple times. Even last year the a pipe broke inside wall. We have brick walls here.. It was so hard to find the source. The moisture sept through all the walls. Weakens the structure too. Only find out when pipe burst and it popped all the paint and cement. Old design were shit. Now we're paying the price.

One thing I noticed is that all of the metal plumbing they touched was replaced with PVC after a long blowtorching session that left the house smelling like a furnace. Not sure if that's better or more durable, but I'm guessing it's definitely cheaper.
If you're particularly unlucky, black mold will start showing up at some point...

In another news. I had a chat with Mihai. He's doing good in life, both personally and professionally. That's all I can share here. So another reason to be happy today.

Mihai is a hero and a patriot. Tell everyone I said that.

hey anon, do you maybe know what this could mean?
Basically ever since I updated chipset drivers a few weeks, from gigabyte website, I hear a "disconnect" sound a few times per day. With USBDeview I managed to find the culprit, my WD external HDD. And with FullEventLogView I found the error, but I don't know what it means.Completing a failed non-ReadWrite SCSI SRB request

That's a consequence of the problem, not its cause. You should be checking channel Microsoft-Windows-Kernel-PnP/Device Management for event ID 1010 (surprise removal) a few seconds before the reconnection. But for an external disk, I'd apply the stuff at http://www.sb-innovation.de/showthread.php?p=369108 first, even if it was working fine before. (That post does not cover USB 3.0 Link Power Management, but we've discussed that not too long ago in this very thread.)

There's no such channel name. Only ...-PnP/Configuration or Driver Watchdog
