I don't know, I don't wanna take any risk regarding Bios. I've had bad experience in past. Do you know is it possible to make a bios backup before upgrading?

If you don't know what this or a hot reflash are, they can't have been that bad

`flashrom -p internal' or FPT (Intel only). Though in practice, the "backup" will be downloading a copy of your current version, which obviously should be done before attempting an upgrade.

    Welp this is awkward.

    > me never having talked about going to pride together with her

friend > i'd really like to go to pride with you this year
me > ok cool, I'm in. Sounds fun!
    friend > buuuut... i can't. super busy :(
me > ok no prob. Not sure why you brought it up then, but maybe next year you won't be busy
    > couple of days later

friend > posts pictures on instagram at pride with other people
Did I say something wrong? I don't understand. Did she just instantly regret asking me?

Last-nanosecond change of plans... or at least that's the best explanation I can come up with after having been in similar situations a few times, and realizing that if they'd never wanted me to come along, they wouldn't have mentioned the idea in the first place.

Anyway, should this be what you were worked up about yesterday two days ago, don't. If plans come through then great; otherwise, it's not like you'll have to crawl back into your coffin and sleep for another 100 years.

And always remember the difference between reality and fiction

I totally get that. That happens. I do that all the time. But mostly the other way around. "Shit, can't make it after all, sorry!"
If the plans changed so they could go, why not just ask me again. Worst case I've made other plans and I can't, best case I'll come along anyway.

Nah it's unrelated. I try not to let people influence my mood too much. This is just a slight annoyance but enough to trigger those annoying obsessive intrusive thoughts.

True, but there's not much I can add here besides what you've already realized: that this isn't what happened.

Pleased to hear the first half, as that's what I was hoping for; not so much about the second, but you'll get there.

Fair. it is what it is, but I'm just trying to understand, I guess. Feeling excluded is that one thing that always bothered me most.
I have an easier time letting go than I did before when I was a teen, but it still stings; even if there's no ill content.

Why? Who doesn't want to be a vampire and spend some time in their coffin now and then?

Lich > vampire. Trust me on this one No time for sleep, those spellbooks aren't going to read themselves.

Though as a non-undead, taking a nap after stuffing myself with a hot meal is a Top 3 feeling.

Please explain why a lich is better than a vampire?

    • No need to kill living beings to feed on their blood. A quiet undeath with no drama.
    • Doesn't matter if you were hit by a nuclear bomb. As long as your phylactery is intact, you can return in a few days.
    • Holing yourself up in your room to read for several decades is not only realistic, but desirable.

And thus I conclude that my hypothesis is indeed correct.

Do vampires have to kill? Depending on the story you're reading, they will just drink your blood and hypnotize you into forgetting it happened.
Fair, though vampire regen is pretty sick too~
As a vampire, you hole up in your room every day and only come out at night. That's pretty amazing if you ask me

I feel like surveillance cameras hadn't been invented when some of those stories were written.

Unless someone drives a stake through your no longer functional heart, in which case you go poof

Would rather have the choice of when to do either and for how long.

Also, only a few thousand Hollywood movies about killing (destroying?) vampires have been made, I could do without all that bad PR... or maybe they're a way to deceive humans with false information

In any case, Tsukihime basically proved everything is "depending on the story you're reading", so maybe there are no right or wrong answers here.

Why not just lure them home with you and send them off again when you're done?
