    True Detective

    directed by Cary Fukunaga

starring Matthew McConaughey, Woody Harrelson, Michelle Monaghan, Kevin Dunn, Tory Kittles, Michael Potts, Alexandra Daddario, Shea Whigham

release date January 12, 2014 (on HBO)

In 2012, Louisiana State Police Detectives Rust Cohle and Martin Hart are brought in to revisit a homicide case they worked in 1995. As the inquiry unfolds in present day through separate interrogations, the two former detectives narrate the story of their investigation, reopening unhealed wounds, and drawing into question their supposed solving of a bizarre ritualistic murder in 1995. The timelines braid and converge in 2012 as each man is pulled back into a world they believed they'd left behind. In learning about each other and their killer, it becomes clear that darkness lives on both sides of the law.

at least we can see Jodie Foster again
for the second character and partner of jodie foster in the show , i think could picked better than Kali Reis but i quess true detectives has to be also destroyed by woke identity politics

It's sad when this series were doing so well. Ratings on the new season have gone downhill.

intro songs from the show are by Billie Eilish - so we are kinda tired of pushing the agenda in tv shows
on the story side,is kinda the same thing ,has some elements of thriller, mystery with some "the thing" atmosphere mixed to make it cool

i'm more interested for my own culture what's the chance in alaska to encounter a real detective like this
shes looking more proper for NY ,not trying to be racist ,but it shouldnt be more native in those parts in % Inupiaq or Yupik more than African Americans hence the chance to be a detective lower ,i doesn't fit the place and story ,or at least cast somebody like Richa Moorjani for the role, otherwise it looks forced, like we put an african american to be detective in north korea,or a russian in dc & we should believe also the story like is real, not to say is not possible but is unlikely

A few years ago I saw a movie that had a black man amongst the Russian mafia (wtf?), he even spoke Russian, I think the movie was 2021 Nobody with Bob Odenkirk.

    Totally agreed with you.

The new season is not even on the same league.

But again, none of the season after the first one were.

True Detective season 1 was one of a kind...

It's because the cops would never send a black man to infiltrate the Mafiya(?).

wich mafia, and also depends on the location
if we are talking about mafia og - italians- even russians bratva,a black guy will never be in the inner circle of mafia,so is pointless to be sent by the cops on the ideea it will not suspect him his a rat,it will not pass the front door anyway

Just downloaded and began watching True Detective Season 1 last night. I read through some reviews to see how loved that first season was. According to the reviews, Season 1 is by far the best and again some of the best tv of all-time, Season 2 was not good despite a great cast and Season 3 was back to be watchable again. Hopefully I enjoy Season 2 despite the reviews.

I almost dropped S1 after four episodes. It was kinda boring, but then it really picks up and it's worth watching!

Season 1 was maybe one of the best tv shows in the last decade, truly one of my favourites.
