Arrow Iran will destroy Israeli cities if attacked

DUBAI (Reuters) - Iran's clerical supreme leader said on Thursday the Islamic Republic would destroy the Israeli cities of Tel Aviv and Haifa if it came under attack from the Jewish state.

"At times the officials of the Zionist regime (Israel) threaten to launch a military invasion but they themselves know that if they make the slightest mistake the Islamic Republic will raze Tel Aviv and Haifa to the ground," Ayatollah Ali Khamenei said in an address to mark the Iranian new year.

Israel has threatened military action against Iran unless it abandons nuclear activities which the West suspects are intended to develop nuclear weapons. Tehran denies this, saying it wants nuclear energy only for civilian purposes.

In his televised speech, Khamenei said Iran's struggles over the past year against international sanctions imposed over its disputed nuclear programme resembled a battle and that its enemies had confessed to trying to "cripple the Iranian nation".

"What happened last year, we need to learn a lesson," he said, alluding to what he described as Iran's significant scientific and military advances. "This vibrant nation will never be brought to its knees."

Khamenei also called for Iran's "natural right" to enrich uranium for nuclear energy to be recognised by the world. Western powers have refused, saying Iran has hidden nuclear work from U.N. inspectors and stonewalled their investigations.

Talks between Iran and six world powers - the United States, China, Russia, Britain, France and Germany - are to resume early next month in a further attempt to strike a deal on Iranian nuclear aspirations.

But Khamenei was cool to a U.S. suggestion of direct talks between the two countries, which severed diplomatic relations after Iran's 1979 Islamic Revolution.

"I am not optimistic about these talks. Why? Because our past experiences show that talks for the American officials do not mean for us to sit down and reach a logical solution ... What they mean by talks is that we sit down and talk until Iran accepts their viewpoint," he said.

"Iran only wants its enrichment right, which is its natural right, to be recognised by the world."

if they make the slightest mistake the Islamic Republic will raze Tel Aviv and Haifa to the ground
nonsense, firstly they don't have enough firepower/time/accuracy to raze even 10% of those cities, secondly that would be a silly move since a heavy retaliation would follow (including attacks from all nearby usa military bases), thirdly randomly attacking cities is strategically useless (targets of very low military importance), fourthly usa & co. are just waiting for a good excuse to take the conflict to the next level, etc. - its just another (hollow) public stunt for PR purposes

Iran's struggles over the past year against international sanctions imposed over its disputed nuclear programme
well, sooner or later they will have to reach a fairly damaging (to iran) agreement or else the sanctions (including other overt & covert actions against them) might become too much for the iranian public to bear (demonstrations, fall of the current government,...)

"This vibrant nation will never be brought to its knees."
its already on its knees (or worse), just like other nations (including democratic ones) all over the world - modern slavery (or eroded freedoms/liberties or continuous retardation/devolution) is simply a less obvious development, it advances slowly so people don't notice it, its chains aren't made of steel but of propaganda/indoctrination/beliefs and the like

talks for the American officials do not mean for us to sit down and reach a logical solution ... What they mean by talks is that we sit down and talk until Iran accepts their viewpoint,"
actually, since usa has the upper hand in this conflict, this is quite logical

"Iran only wants its enrichment right, which is its natural right, to be recognised by the world."
in theory, every right is a natural right - in practice, only that right which is practically exercised (or has been exercised) can be called a natural right

in this case, 'the right to enrichment' is indeed currently & temporarily a natural right (iran is doing it), but whether it will still be so in the future is uncertain/unknown

so let me fix that for you, supreme (lol) leader:

"Iran only wants its enrichment right to be recognized by the relevant world powers."

to paraphrase a song lyrics ('it ain't over 'till its over'): 'it ain't a natural right 'till it happened'

the us politics are like poison, it cant attack the target directly, they have to go and poison everything around it, thats what they do to Iran and all the other countries in the middle east. look what they do today in Syria, they bring mercinaries from all around the world, give them wepoans and send them to fight as a freedom fighters.

there is only three lands left that still didnt get on its knees, its Iran, Libanan and Syria, all other countries such as Saudi arab, UAE, Bahrain, Iraq, are currupted and controlled by USA. There is nothing good coming from Israiel or USA. Only death and disaster.
When you get to hell, tell em' Duke sent ya

When Ottoman imperor has all North Africa and all middle east at 1914 , usa use the same tactic , they use arabs to Ottoman when Ottoman had a war at lot of fronts at first world war.at iraq front Ottoman had a war with great Britain and arap tribals.Great Britain and Usa promised freedom to araps if they fight against Ottoman with themselves. And then Ottoman lose Iraq because ottoman had a war 5-6 big fronts and arap tribals helped Britain and Usa.And arap tribals be a slave
Today they use same tactic ''freedom''
But for me this tactic not work on iran because they havent got any different etnick revolt for freedom, and İran use only Quran restriction for government.Usa will be win war but this will not be easy like Iraq , like eqypt .in syria this tactic not works like others because syria has big army and power and most important thing russia and china helping syria.
İf usa came to a country , disasters, death, revolt, hunger, poverty came with it
