Can anyone receive Copyright Infringement Notice for faking?

    Hi All,

I was just wondering, can anyone get a Copyright Infringement Notice if he is faking a certain torrent with RM or mR. So although he has not downloaded or uploaded anything, he will still show in the peer list and can get caught for no fault.

On the positive side, if someone receives such a notice, he can say that he was just testing tools like RM and mR and not actually downloading or uploading and hence it does not count as piracy.

you won't show up in the peerlist, so you can't get caught.

Ratio tools don't transfer anything to other peers, and tracker announces aren't evidence of anything, so no.

Seems like you haven't heard about the famous 'Pay up or else' schemes common in US and some other countries.

It uploads because it connects to peers, and whenever you connect to peers you are susceptible to monitoring. You could resource to encryption but that have it's share of problems like limited numbers of peers, and you will still connect to them. So I guess bittorrenting can't be done under the radar.

If you need 100% assurance that no-upload will work, use Vuze Extreme Mod.

pay up or else scheme is called extortion , they mostly count on people fears to pay , because is not legal

is farfetched to be scared about receiving Copyright Infringement Notice only because you appear list and this will never happen , i quess it depends also on wich country you live, but is a long stretch
