Bitgamer shuts down :-(

Bad news. I was cheating due to the freeleech, and on refreshing found that the site is gone for ever. :-(

We've reached the end of the ride. bitGAMER has been an amazingly fun ride, but all rides must come to an end.

For those who don't know, bitGAMER began as a small sister-site of Underground Gamer. What started as a side-project of UG staff members quickly grew into a 65,000 member behemoth with an identity all its own. Our small hobby project turned into something that went well beyond all of our dreams.

Of course, you all know that the legal climate has changed over the years, so we won't bore you with that stuff. More importantly, the founders are simply ready to move on with their lives. Running an immensely popular gaming tracker is a rewarding, but it's also a very stressful, and often thankless, task. We hope that closing this door will open other doors in our lives, and that we can take all of the lessons we've learned from bitGAMER into the next phase of our lives.

The bitGAMER community has been incredible since the beginning. We want to take this moment to thank each and every member of the community who contributed in any way and allowed this community to thrive for so long.

Any tracker as good as BG? Where will all bitgamers go now?

BCG and Gazelle Games are there, but bitgamer was far better in terms of content.

UG deals in older content, before the year 2003 so nobody is mainly concerned with it. The anti-piracy guys go after the latest stuff mostly.

BCG is damn slow. I'm not so fond of their interface so I'll rather stick with GazelleGames until they change to a better look. BG was 1000 times better both in content as well as interface, it will be missed

I'm no hardcore gamer but I do recognize a good tracker when I see it.
It had everything: speed, content, unique content (packs made by them and found nowhere else)...

My best friend was using my accounts on bitgamer and he will be very very disappointed. I too for that matter but he really is a gamer.

A shame, this was a pretty good game tracker. I joined when I was more into gaming than I am now (was one of my oldest accounts, late 2007) and downloaded many things from it.

I've been at their IRC and seems like most people is going to GGN and BCG, mostly the first one since many ppl there were hating BCG and telling others it is shit. There were some admins from GGN giving away invites to every1 who asked, I guess they should still be around.

by the morning i got first 404 Error and i seeized something wrong. At Night i opened up my favorites in LastPass and trying listen something. Then a song cameout but i surprised where does it come from?
it came from their message screen. I felt myself unhappy somehow.

Does GGN need an invite? 'cause i registered on both GGN and BCG a few hours ago without one...
