This will be an interesting remake of the old series from way back when. Still, I can't help it but think they could have put a real native into Jonny Depp's character in this film. A couple of things do come to mind and that is that such a role, being played by a Caucasian, would need to consider the necessity of respect for the role that Depp's character portrays. A native person. Natives throughout North and South America have a history that far precedes that of the white man's disruptive intrusion onto their land, into their culture, ways of life, land grabbing, and what-ever else I can't think of at the moment. Will be interesting to see though.

    He descending, will Himself,

From ...the filmmaking team behind the blockbuster "Pirates of the Caribbean" franchise
apart from the relatively decent first part, the rest of the franchise was very unsatisfactory & redundant, thus making this info less encouraging

The Lone Ranger," a thrilling adventure infused with action and humor, in which the famed masked hero is brought to life through new eyes.
judging by the trailer the action is mindlessly overblown (with elements of gangster-like shootouts, exaggerated explosions and ridiculous stunts), the humor will rest upon depp's ability to play weirdos with occasional wisecracks (which is something like a signature-role for him) and the 'new eyes' part will likely translate as: spirit warrior (which btw. has nothing to do with actual wars) tonto and his gun-slinging side-kick 'the lone ranger' vs. some powerful nemesis (in a quest for domination on a massive scale), ie. your typical (super)hero theme with a new-age 'reality' twist

dreams/promises of power as inspiration for the masses and more pandering to the viewers using their animosity towards the ruling class as means to embrace/like the depicted heroes

nonsense, the railroad is just a way of transportation and as such represents merely a tool that may be used, among others, to influence future events, but these events cannot be (completely) controlled unless one has (complete) control over every and any acteur involved in the events, which is obviously impossible

doesn't really matter (the industry already has that part covered regarding depp's ancestry), not to mention how this probably wouldn't attract many viewers (if using less famous native actors as main 'stars')

sounds like the infamous PC (political correctness), no?

and they could also be partially (meaning: equally as the intruders) blamed for letting the intruders take over what they once had, ie. for their naivety, lack of organized resistance, adaptation skills regarding new/changed conditions or long-term planning, but then again this could be said for any nation that got conquered and wasn't able to restore (or preserve) their sovereignty/independence - furthermore, the same principle applies to any human and his status within a country

as for the 'lone ranger' tv-series, i remember watching an old western with actors from that series (probably: 'The Lone Ranger' from 1949), however it wasn't very enjoyable, it seemed to be an unattractive & juvenile b-western with thin characters, silly situations/solutions/script, wooden acting and the like - the lone ranger was ridiculously pristine/motivated/unrealistic, whereas the tonto character was depicted as his loyal & primitive side-kick (even ridiculed since the name 'tonto' was probably designed as an inside-joke that translates to something like 'dummy')

for good/great movies with interesting (depiction of) native-american characters see:
    The White Buffalo (1977) western
    Dances With Wolves (1990) western
The Last Of The Mohicans (1992) adventure
    Apache (1954) western
    Thunderheart (1992) drama/thriller

good/decent westerns with the winnetou character:
    Der Oelprinz (1965)
    Der Schatz im Silbersee (1962)
    Winnetou - 1. Teil (1963)
    Winnetou - 2. Teil (1964)
    Winnetou - 3. Teil (1965)

john wayne - The Searchers (1956)
dean martin - Rio Bravo (1959)
yul brynner, james coburn - The Magnificent Seven (1960)
charles bronson - The White Buffalo (1977)
henry fonda - Once Upon a Time in the West (1968)

james stewart - The Man Who Shot Liberty Valance (1962)
gregory peck - The Big Country (1958)
clint eastwood - The Good, the Bad and the Ugly (1966)
gary cooper, burt lancaster - Vera Cruz (1954)
kirk douglas - Gunfight at the O.K. Corral (1957)
