I remember right after I got promoted to moderator a couple of years back, right after I signed in and saw that there were a bunch of notifications for me. Something like about 8 or so. I thought to myself that I must have done something wrong. I just about pee-pee'd my pants wondering what I must have done wrong.

I mean, it's only a discussion forum, right?? It can't be that bad.

So then I opened up one PM/VM after the other and I saw that they were just congratulatory remarks. Phew!!, I thought.

    +3 on the staff promotion

Some moments that spring to mind right now:

When we released the very first Extreme Mod version to the public. Since it had been announced beforehand, and we even had a countdown in the forum index...

...when we finally posted it the forum became hell unleashed. The thread grew by several pages in the first minutes, and such outrageously massive posting continued for the following days. This gave us a new "most users ever online" record, which remained until something happened on March 23th, 2011.

The long chats I used to have with Aurion, zatoicchi, SealLion, Logitech and others in news threads many years ago.

My first rep (it was from Rebound) shortly after I began becoming active on the forum. I was a spammer with poor grammar, but that slowly improved

Yup. Me too. Koodos to Rebound for mine too. He gave me mine first ever as well. I PM'd him afterwards asking him (along with a thanks for it too) why he had given me one. He answered back b/c he liked my posting. "ok", I thought. That's good.

And there were a couple of Chill and Fun moments in the forum too. I remember this one post I placed in that section about where SB-I was under police surveillance or something like that. It was all meant for a good time of course. I was kinda surprised at the number of page reviews I got from that. I remember that there was some kind of pic I posted and it showed something about the cops playing some silly game while in their cruiser, I think. Sorry, can't recall all at the moment. But I do remember that when posting it, it might have something interesting quality to it because of the title I gave it and conclude board users to have a quick look at it to see what the buzz was all about. Sure enough.

You've posted a ton of good stuff on that section. Those "SealLion vs. trackers" stories were epic

Oh, man. I was just having a look at some of my older posts in that section, anon. I did find the direct link. It was a funny I decided to post about the German cops having gotten bored with watching sb-i online so they did something a little less boring for themselves. The direct link to what I had posted at that time is here:

Oh, and yes. I remember the SealLion vs. the trackers stories too. Oh, man. The good times. There is this post I made here and it's a pity that the images are no more. At that time, I was most undoubtedly was using Imageshack. Bad move on my part at the time. Nevertheless, the story is still there and to be honest I had to re-read the 2 main stories that I wrote. They are kind of funny, you know.

At the time, I was a hard-core cheater. YOu wouldn't catch me NOT cheating. I think at the time, all I did was to cheat. Sometimes without remorse. Not a good thing actually.

Well, what can I say. Those days were then and this is now.

Anyways on to the stories. One of the stories that has images missing is this one here. What a blast this one to write.

and the second one in which the story still has pics is this one here. Actually, it's amazing that the pics must still be on the server.

    :')

Yet that Seal-god also had many a friends. There was the one who would not reveal himself. For he remained Anonymous.

And there was the one who would drive. For he would drive what he held good unto himself.

And there was the one who would Bound himself Away from others. For he would always come back to those whom had cast him Away from them.

And there was the one who was V. For he was mysterious to them who would befriend him. Yet a friend he was to those whom would leech with him.
The first three ones are me, Aurion and Rebound... do you remember who V was?

I think on year 2008/09/30 that's was the begin of my terror to SB-I (my first day) and one week later i loved SB-I with the entire staff.

There was a lot of good moments but I hope just carry on

I was sadly, because a lot of good staff agone :( So far as I recall Manas, Butcho, Hitman, Oldboy, Anyway, Aurion, kazuya, Mutter, plentonimus, nihar...

But a lot of new good user come to SB-I and so forth...

    best regards

Honestly, I could not remember. I had to re-read that post and I was wondering if that was VDD+wr perhaps. He was a friendly guy I remember. And I think that characteristic is what motivated me to place him inside the tale and make the statement Yet a friend he was..... I haven't seen him since he PM'd me about a year and a half ago. But again, I can't correctly recall who V was in my tale. I know that he was someone on this board at that time and was well known to a few of the other guys here. All I remember is that the guy was very friendly. He was known to you as well and so I am wondering that it was VDD+wr.

I remember this one time where Snitlev and I were in the chatbox for about 5 mins or so. We had a bit of fun with one another. Teasing and trying to get one 'up on the other' with our smilies inside the chatbox. We used that shooting smilie against one another proving that one of us was better or trying to get 'one up' over the other. That was a good time, eh Snitlev?? I don't know if you remember that but it was a nice time, though

Also, anon. Do you remember when you were trying to get your post milestones of 10 or 15 thousand and then soon there-after wanted to get 25 thousand?? fThat was something like 2 years ago wasn't it??

gotta remember the days of high board activity, be it regarding cheating/mods/tracker info, news/developments in the 'world of torrenting' or the 'general news' (aka the politics) section, the last one being a place of large posts dissecting world events, where usually SealLion started some topic after which i'd often bring up another related lengthy reply with occasional input from other members...those sure were big time consumers/wasters, digging through different sources, watching hours of various documentaries, connecting pieces of all those puzzles...it lasted for a year or so, continued on the german politics section (where Snitlev acted as the main thread supplier or perhaps spammer? hehe ) for a while and afterwards both of these got pretty much abandoned somewhere about the same time the general activity on sbi got reduced, which also somewhat corresponds to the activity on many other torrenting-related sites that experienced a heavily reduced participation which continues to this day

another memorable event was the establishment of sbi's irc channel, that was a fun experiment (when there were some active users online, that is), the fuss around the initial idea..., (large) trouts flying around, hellman getting thrown around by Error ..., some lengthy chats & PM's, though the timing of the channel was probably off by several months as there was never a steady critical mass of (active) users available that would ensure continuous activity/participation so it eventually got deserted rather soon after its inception

the next memorable thing is ofc the participation of our few (only in numbers) female members who had the difficult task of putting up with the predominantly male-type-o-bs that inevitably spreads around on mostly male-visited forums, namely Sazzy, Gapo, Schnittchen (Snitlev will know what this means hehe, others might if they are resourceful enough ),...

almost forgot (must be from not enough headbanging) about the all-time-awesumest thread in sbi history in the field of entertainment:
    http://www.sb-innovation.de/showthre...threadid=16587

    the weird?

    (quick)reviewing 250 imdb movies?
    SBfreak's avatar-changing script?
    http://www.sb-innovation.de/showthre...e=2#post153442
the factoids, tales of penguins & mascots? http://www.sb-innovation.de/showthre...threadid=16798

    the annoying?

losing a huge post due to teh internetz instabilities
recreating a large post from memory due to the 'lack of love from the system'
regular packs o' n00b posts as they inconspicuously manage their unsatisfactory postcount(s)?
    occasional vaispy hiccups?

    the sad?

sbi members announcing their final departure from the board
sbi member getting caught in the middle of a war-like conflict (ET)

Ah yes, vDD, he was cool. Sadly he hasn't been around the forum much, but I got a PM from him some months ago letting me know he's okay, just busy with stuff.

I remember this one time where Snitlev and I were in the chatbox for about 5 mins or so. We had a bit of fun with one another. I had the same "fights" with Rebound, hitman and shoulder, sending us tons of the war smileys and generally having a good laugh.

Ah, the 10000th post (made in a mRatio thread)...

    [Ratio Tool] mRatio 2.1.5 - Page 35

..and the party. Lots of love from everyone and I tried to share mine too. Next year I made the 20000th one and there was another party, then Rebound set the next one for my 50000th post, which is going to take a while. To date, this is the forum where I've been most active.

And something similar (though less massive) to the Vuze Extreme Mod "incident" occured with mRatio 2.x, Ratio Faker, and the new versions of RatioMaster. In fact, we have so many programs with functions that could only be dreamed of four years ago...

Ah yes. The General News posts. Those were time good time wasters. I remember I'd spend about an hour to an hour and half reading AJE and maybe a few other news sites and then going ahead with typing my opinion on these items. JUst too time consuming, I found. WAy too much time. My posts were long no doubt and yes it was fun. I know slik, you were the only dedicated responder/poster to my threads on different things in the news. Most especially what was and is still happening in the Middle East. I still have empathy for Palestinians. Just not so vocal any longer, I guess. Those were good times for sure.

And of course I also recall a couple of sad items too. Like Vation leaving. Such a good guy. I remember when I was Staff I'd recall reading some of his Reported Posts. And he made lots of them too.

Another fellow that no doubt left is shadoww. Another good guy. I haven't seen him around for a long time either. He was a good forum-friend to have. Miss him (tear drop falling)

And of course that little guy, tokiodrift1. He said his good-bye as well. He was a really good guy. He's one of the one's that I miss most.

A good moment in my history with sb-i is inside this one thread where it was debated and discussed on the idea that users here would have the title of "member'. This was done to prevent abuse of downloading of new mods and tools that were considered intellectual property of sb-i's coders. Such new tools were downloaded by one of sb-i's 'enemies' ( I don't know if Seba14 still is the board's enemy or not). Regardless. This is where sb-i felt that it was best to have new mods and tools released to sb-i forum 1st and then to the general public after some time passed. As such it was debated and discussed in that particular thread the why's, how's, when, and so forth of downloading rights and membership titles. Inside that thread is where I first met Slikrapid. And we talked a couple of times in that thread. And so ya...that is where Slik and I eventually became forum-friends. Good time for sure.

And speaking of Seba14. Another good time that I was looking forward too was the fact that I found out Seba14's real name, home address, and telephone number. Pretty much everything you'd want and a little bit more. At least that is what I determined at the time. So the good time decided to continue and I PM'd anon to pass the message that I'd phone Seba14 (name withheld of course and all other information. Don't ask me as I won't tell either in regards to privacy issues. Find it out yourself). I thought that I would phone him in relation to the time zones and also on a week-end when I was hoping he may/might not work. Bummer that it turned out to be. So as the story goes, I phoned Seba14 at the number that I got and I got the German followed by an English translation of the number that I just dialed is not in service any longer.

Ah, man!! Bummer, I thought. What??!! Seba14 ruined my hoped-for good time to talk with him and see what he's all about and so forth. And all that by the voice of a recorded message. Anyways. As the story continues, I re-dialed the number. Got the same message. Went back to my notepad and re-dialed what I copied/pasted. Re-dialed again. Bummer. No go. Well so I just PM'd anon to tell him the sad news that Seba14 is smarter than we think he is to leave his number posted on the internet. What a guy!!
    LOL.
