Demonoid Ratio doesn't update!

Hey guys, i didn't know exactly where to post, because i didn't find a review thread for demonoid.

I have a problem, i have a demonoid account for 5 days and i downloaded about 20 GB and uploaded about 100 GB (not fake), but the ratio is 0.First time i used deluge but after that i verified the FAQ and i saw that deluge isn't accepted by the tracker so i downloaded and uploaded with utorrent and still nothing.I knew from other forum that the ratio updates at 12 pm every day.Maybe i have to change something.I disabled DHT Network from uTorrent preferences like some people said and still nothing.

Can you help me?

Same IP browsing the site and leeching/seeding?

As Shoulder said, for your ratio to update, you must browse the site and download torrents from the same ip and it take a day or two so it isn't automatic.

I have dynamic ip but the internet comes from a router so i have a static ip too (192.168. bla bla).Of course i didn't change ip, i downloaded torrent file from tracker and directly started to download the files.

Is there a difference between demonoid and other trackers? Because the ratio changes very well on TL, IPT, FL, iPlay and many others...

It is strange that there are 5 days of downloading and uploading and no ratio update.

That's you LAN IP and doesn't matter in this case.

As said, Demonoid is IP based, while most others are passkey based.

I had this same problem when I first started using Demonoid a couple of years ago and I was scratching my head over why the ratio which I knew I must have gathered was not being posted. I had read on a discussion forum somewhere at the time in which others were familiar with the same problem and what I discovered is that when you are on Demonoid do not "X" out or close your client as you normally can do with other torrent sites in which your ratio is quickly updated. With Demonoid, I (and you might have to as well) have to pause the torrent until the upload rate comes to a complete stop (at 0 kB/s). Wait a minuite or so (while it is at 0kB./s). Then close the client. Log back into Demonoid at the time in which the site updates and your ratio should now be recorded. I have found that this method works fairly well. Sorry that I'm unable to recall the specific reasons I read why you should do this but it does work. I might be wrong but it might have something to do with how the site is not able to record your updated ratio because the client closes out too quickly for it to record it. Or it might be related to it not being a live tracker and b/c of that it can't do what you would want it to. There's just too many peers on Demonoid, I guess.

Demonoid shall update properly, only when just before you are leeching/seeding you need to login in Demonoid at least once so your present IP gets recorded by their server for proper stats.

Once this is done unless you pull router's power or since you are using dynamic IP according to your ISP (Lease Obained /Lease Expire) time: you might have to do this as when new IP is assigned. You have to check if your IP is changed from the one you recorded.

ps: For public trackers where always there is lack of passkey, its best to have a static IP.

It doesn't matter what time you pause to update. You can try it. It works in my cases. In short this is the procedure I use:

1. After downloading to finish the torrent pause that torrent down to 0 kB/s;
2. While the torrent is paused at 0 kB/s wait a moment or 2 while the torrent is in pause mode;
3. Stop that torrent, then close the client.
4. Login whenever you want. Today, tomorrow, next week, next year....

Pause, stop, close

I am surprised there's no review. They're probably among the top 3 biggest trackers on Earth. Maybe I should make one.

That's an interesting website. Never knew of it before. I don't know if that site is as accurate as the admins on that site might believe their own site to be but I use public sites and it says they have no records of my IP.

It was posted on the news section here some time ago. They collected a large amount of IPs and associated them with torrents on a database. They said I was guilty of downloading Modern Warfare 3
