    Where is Mcafee ?
I used it for about 5 years ,it was the best 10 years ago ,i tried avg and avira and so on especially norton but now nothing except KIS .
Avira have advantage over KIS cause it can detect some of encrypted Trojan but i don't like it cause doesn't take my permission before delete like KIS .

Old kaspersky have some problems like crash and so on but the new one work very well ,using KIS 11.0.2.556.
Busy , new things always comes
Its the time for personal life ,Still here from time to time, Greeting for everybody All .

IMHO, none of above the best ...... Its a big story...but I tested all of above except Qihoo 360.

    1. Eset - Got hacked all my tracker's id and password during using it. My little cousine just run Rapidshare Keygen(lol) and in the morning I see at all my tracker's username or password incorrect ! btw I got most of them back via irc except Revtt (f*** them all)

    2. Avira :- Its a good but I got always prob to download with IDM. tried hundreds time untill I success to disable webprotection..so I avoid it.

    3. G- Data - Installed and Uninstalled in next 6 hours...Just got system slow in horrible speed.

    4. Norton - IMO Norton is itself a big virus. Norton is enemy of windows OS !

    5. Kaspersky - Never success to impress me...in my win 7 x 64 crashes oftenly..

so for my system I dont know you like it or not...I am using Quick Heal Internet Security for a long time. A best antivirus I ever used. light weight never got prob with it.

but my votes also gone to K7Total security and Avast internet security..They are also too good.

Do they even have this thing in English b/c all I could find was for one's in Chinese since it's made by a Chinese company.
It might suck but I was curious as I've never come across it yet until now.

Avira's the big boss, It never fails me.
I've been using it for 3+ years on all the computers in my home (and have known it since it was ~3.5MB, I think that was in 2005).

    Reasons:
    You said it, good heuristics.
Light on my computer, It only scans when I say so, no toolbars(now they are optional)/advisors crap, doesn't act on it's own.(Read: full user control).
    It's free.

In my opinion, Avira + Comodo Firewall = 99.9% hack proof.

It apparently has partnered up with Avira and is using their heuristics. It catches more viruses, but you will get more false positives.

I remember the language could be changed when installing, maybe you should try this virus..

Been using Nod32 AV for quite some time now. And I've know of it for at least 10 years. It's always been light on resources, and that's why I always come back. For me light is not about RAM as most of us have at least 4 gigs nowadays but hdd grinding an processor occupation.
On another note, I know Norton has had a bad record with AV for quite some time but lately they've been doing better. Overall resources have gone way down but it still crunches the hell out of my laptop sometimes. That's why I also stay away from Avira and Microsoft Essentials which are great AV solutions.

In the end the only thing that really keeps you safe is yourself and your education.
As I've been advocating for Eset's solution, let me tell you that I find internet solution packages bloated, so I only install the AV, and that I've known a lot of cases where people got infected using this AV. Also I know a lot of other solutions that have fallen prey to viruses.
It's your choice but before blaming any AV solution understand the situation that led to you getting infected and ask yourself whether or not your are to blame.

Right now on the OS that I'm currently on, I use Nod32 v2.7 ( the one with the 'nsane' fix--I love the 50000 year long licence. And yes, I do plan on living that long). This along with Comodo firewall works great for myself.

I've also found that a number of the AV makers out there have bloated software. With things like an encrypted folder/drive and so forth. Speaking for myself only, I find that it's always best to have separate software for separate functions.

I voted NOD 32 because it's the one I used the most. But, there is no such thing as the best antivirus. Every antivirus I used until now had something annoying. AVG had and has a memory issue thing, NOD 32 was blocking like hell my wifi home connection and Bitdefender was making my PC seem like it was 10 years old. They all have issues and things people don't like. But what I have noticed is that if you know a thing or two about computers it doesn't really matter what antivirus you have, you just need one to block some stuff out that you can't do it on your own.
I'm now using Avast and I like it more that the rest because you can run applications that other AV's wouldn't let you in sandbox. So if I need a keygen or something Avast will not see it as a virus. Pretty good. Oh, and it's Free Edition and I don't think I need more than it already has.
