Computer restored, technician didn't save my partial and awaiting to download list...

My computer got stuck and I reset it and got caught in a loop where I couldn't restart it. I ended up taking it to the place I bought it where they saved most of my data and restored/rebooted/reinstalled my OS..

They said they couldn't save torrents on U-Torrent - and I had a bunch of them that were awaiting download and in various stages of completion.

So, I went to the various sites to recreate my list; I found a torrent, clicked download and surprise! U-Torrent started to check it and it was one that was 100% and then it moved it to "completed torrents."

So.......the torrents are obviously somewhere in my computer? Where? How to find them? THANKS very much.....

The message said my account had been disabled, can you please tell me why? I don't think putting a new topic in the wrong forum should be grounds for that. And while I was advised my topic was moved, I thought I posted in the a forum that had U-torrent listed - so that would have seemed to be the right place....can you please explain what I did wrong?

    THANKS

    Right-click -> Open Containing Folder.

What message, and where can I get Windows XP 2002?

Try looking at the kind of threads that populate the uTorrent section. I think you should then get the idea.

The store where I bought my refurbished computer put Windows XP 2002 on it. Do you want me to see if they will sell the disk?

Well, only SOME of the torrents are in "open containing folder" but how to get them BACK on the list of U-Torrent client since the summary is now unavailable...meaning I don't always remember where I got the original torrent.....

Nope, I meant I didn't even know there was a Windows XP 2002 until now.

If they aren't on %appdata%\uTorrent, you'll have to try and remember...

An alternative solution for you would be to use a software like "Everything" ( example only) or use that crappy "search" feature that Windows is known to bloat itself with and search for files that have .torrent (dot torrent) ending to the files. Or realize you need to do a search for your ".avi" files or ".mp3" files or what-ever file extension your torrents ended up with.

You understand what I'm trying to help explain so as to make your life a wee-tad easier rather than banging your head on the walls trying to remember to either no or little avail where you left this or that torrent.

That's about as easy as I can get it for you.

And since you say that you can't recall where you got the original content from, I wouldn't concern yourself over that. Your client will look after that itself once you select File>Add Torrent after you've found the .torrent using windows crappy search feature. Hence, I'd recommend something a little more decent like the example I've provided or what-ever you personally prefer for searching your machine.

HOpe this helps. To some degree at least.

    Thank you SeallLion very much

I want to reply to this tonight while I read it and don't want to forget. I will try what you said, about looking for my torrent files....

But I was also concerned about the queued files, with zero percent downloaded. Often on does a lot of looking for them, reading about them, research on whether one even wants to download them........unfortunately with a very slow DSL connection, it is often easier, so I thought, to queue them up in U-Torrent.......and download them when I had time. However, I'm finding it more convenient to write important things down on paper in a spiral notebook. Seems with viruses and whatnot, I'm always losing data.

    Thanks

I haven't laughed this well in since 24 hours upon seeing your image, anon.
    What a gas.
I think that laughter must have been the best invention of mankind.
I think we ought to invest more in laughter, you know.
    Seriously.
Have you ever laughed so well you've almost drowned in your own tears of joy??

That was my good deed of the day.

I did when someone answered the question "what's your favorite movie scene?" with "Sylvester Stallone".

I just did again as I typed this... so good...

Clarification about the rules and how to reply to forum posts

As one of my Public Library clerks, originally from Poland, so eloquently put it, language is a flexible, living thing and as such, no matter how well crafted the text, it can still be misinterpreted.

I am assuming "Anon's" image is referencing the rules, which I did read; I thought they meant don't put "Thanks" by itself or it would be viewed as SPAM which is why I was so careful to type two paragraphs. But I see that I have still messed up, however unintentionally, I will try to be sincere in saying 'thank you for the enlightenment.'

no guys i think all of u are wrong
there is a simple explanation for this

no matter hotdude99 try to target that thanks button in seallion the mouse pointer goes all wrong to a random area in screen
so i guess there is an avoid button area around SealLion's button LOL

hotdude99 maybe u don't notice but all we have button to thanks
that's what anon tried to say so if sealLion help u just click thanks instead of SAY thanks ^^
