Finally watched it. It's a good movie no doubt but it's not my favorite superhero movie.

I think it's way better than GL!

this one is (much) worse than the green lantern, which means that pretty much all superhero movies from 2011 have failed to deliver anything noteworthy regarding the (sub)genre

the list of shortcomings is quite lengthy, fi.:
- the stubborn insistence on making cpt. america start off as some underdeveloped scrawny character (but with a good 'heart') that transforms into a superhuman athlete (and keeps the 'heart' intact, yet somehow changes other behavioral characteristics), repeating the annoying 'from the underdog to top-dog' formula which got worn-out by the majority of (recent) superhero junk offerings
- the way he mindlessly/fanatically tried to get enlisted, despite his obvious incompetence
- the impotence regarding female company (as if someone was watching too many woody allen cinematographic fantasies)
- the way he got selected for the experiment, basically through a wild guess or a ~1min remote psychoanalysis done by a scientist that doesn't even specialize in that field but somehow has the power to approve any candidate he wishes to
- the transformation process itself & its depiction - which makes cpt. america nothing more than a human on steroids, just like any (extreme) bodybuilder - yet he acts as if he became invincible (and we are made to believe the same)
- bringing top generals to a prototype testing, which can't be reenacted again for some stupid reason or two
- the lame PR choreography & soldier reactions to a super-soldier
- the usa ability to easily send their troops anywhere in europe during the 2. world war (normandy was anything but easy)
- the hydra ability to raise virtually unlimited funds & personnel under germany's very nose, who doesn't have a clue what hydra is up to, yet the americans know it instantly
- the incompetence of hydra soldiers, the disproportional competence of randomly chosen silly-looking bunch of allied prisoners (who are naturally well fed, rested and immediately ready for combat, not to mention lucky enough to quickly figure out how unknown technology works and how to use it)
- the feigned innocence of scientists
- the sloppy/cliche romantic elements
- the ability to analyze/use supercharged matter/particles with vastly inferior technology (by any 'camp')
- kamikaze-style rockets with target names written on them, alluding to 9/11
- the poor final fight (including any other fight/'battle', not to mention the ridiculous shield action), villan's death (or interstellar teleportation), the ending scenes
- the lame villain mask/face, cheap-looking cgi/effects
- bad acting all around (including tough-wannabe tommy lee jones and the insane-as-hell villain)
- etc. etc.

ultimately, the movie was actually ridiculing the main character and his ideals (probably because it has a strong patriotic stamp, both in its name/image and beliefs/goals), which is probably something the fans didn't expect, especially not from a non-spoof movie

well i liked the movie. green lantern sucked.. this was better ..worth the download.. i can do this all day my ass.. bring that fellow to me. i'll knock him down by 1 punch i bet

i didnt like this one, was bad acting and the story is just too silly, the green lanten was ok compare to this.
