    Christmas is celebrated all over the world with great fervor marking the birth of Jesus Christ. The traditions differ in different parts of the world, but there are some common symbols which are closely associated with this festival. Although we are familiar with most of these symbols, few of us actually know the significance and symbolism behind them.     the correct title would be 'the shallow public explanation' of these symbols that has little to do with either their origin or actual meaning - perhaps this may be sufficient to satisfy less informed/interested individuals, but certainly not those who want to find out what really lies beneath all these commonly used symbols and who aren't satisfied/indoctrinated by the officially parroted simplistic explanations (that usually fail to mention fi. how the symbols tend to have striking similarities to pre-christian/ancient ones all over the world, or how their early usage corresponds to different cultures again all over the world, or how the present usage is reduced to mere imitation without understanding what is it all about) - instead of transparency, inquiry & valid research one gets official religious fairy-tales to cover-up the essence - thats what nowadays gets passed as education or knowledge, whats even worse, the situation is not too different in science either, the two may have more in common than one might think
