    ps3 firmware downgrader anounced

    commercial psjb hackers have announced an update which will enable consoles running on 3.42 and 3.50 firmwares to be downgraded to 3.41 or even lower.

    But doesnt Sony force players to upgrade to new firmwares in order to continue playing? Atleast that is what I heard when the PS3 jailbreak was announced. Sony forced people to upgrade to newer firmwares to counter the jailbreak in order to contiunue playing.. or something like that

    There are people working in make the pre 3.50 firmware work on PSN.
    Actually you can spoof the version but there is more data necessary to work on PSN.

    This downgrade only works 1 time, that means 3.50 downgrade to 3.4* and use PSjailbreak but you can downgrade again if you for some reason update it.

    Yes, whenever you connect to PSN you are obliged to update to the latest firmware. Another problem is that the newer games comes with these updates bundled, so there's no way out. I'm still of the opinion that a modchip that can be turned on/off would be the best.
