    Post Vuze mods

    Hi Guys

    Cool forum :)

I've been a Azureus fan for a long time and see mods all to do with ratios.

    1. I see there's a hack for utorrent to enable DHT on private torrents.
I cant seem to find something similar for Vuze? I use the mainline plug but it would be nice to force an enable for DHT.

    2. Also, is there a way to get past i.e. a 5 active tracker limit on private trackers?

What I do is run the torrent and let the sources get cached, stop it and start a new one etc. and just start the limit exceeding torrents to operate from the cached peers.

Technically you don't really have to stop the torrent, just tell the tracker you are stopping and continue with the download? I imagine you would need to cycle through the torrents to get fresh peers off a private tracker?

Anything to overcome these 2 limitations?
    Thanks

I think is possible add a force DHT in Vuze Extreme mod, because is already present in some uTorrent mods, for that I think is not impossible.
    About the 2nd question I don't know

Please post in the right section. As for your questions:

    1. there isn't such a "hack" in existence for Azureus at the moment, but making one should be relatively easy.

    2. you can't, since it's the tracker that checks that. The only workaround is ghostleeching, i.e. what you're currently doing. Although you can stop the torrent so that a download slot is freed up, remove the tracker URL, and resume it.

    Hi there

Thanks for the quick answer. Searched long to find the right place to post. Sorry about that, still getting to know the forum structure.

    1. Hope someone can do this. Will def help in getting additional Peers for your torrents.

    2. I like 'ghostleeching' - actually you upload too when connected in this mode.

What I was on about is that you 'tell' the tracker your're stopping your download, and then your client stops the connections to the peers for that torrent.
When you tell the tracker you're stopping, you're freeing up a new slot as you said.

Why not have a hack to 'tell' the tracker you're stopping but keep connected to the peers and have the torrent keep running, almost like a manual delay between updates.

This way you can keep on cycling though your torrents per tracker and get updated Peer sources while ghost leeching.

I'll have a look at what http command is sent to the track to "stop" a torrent ... might be a way to sneak this command in there manually without Vuze knowing out it... in fact your'll be turning a working torrent into a ghost torrent without actually breaking your Peer connections. Sneaky

    Thanks again

Yes, of course you will upload when you ghostleech, but you can tick "no upload" for that torrent in the Extreme Mod and avoid that.

That's available in the Elite Vuze mod, so it probably won't be public.

    It looks somewhat like:
    GET /announce?passkey=0000...&numwant=0&event=stopped HTTP/1.1
The order of the parameters varies from client to client.

    Well, that's not true.

I don't even use the Extreme Mod, actually, because of its lack of uTP. Not that it means our coders aren't doing a fantastic job on it.
