Screenwriter: Guillermo del Toro, Nigel McKeand, Matthew Robbins
Starring: Katie Holmes, Guy Pearce, Bailee Madison
    Genre: Drama, Horror, Thriller

katie holmes in a movie? may i predict....

Pearce will play the father, an author frustrated by his daughter's tales of monsters
the role suits him and his nervous/itchy appearance

but this has been done like dozens of times before and it looks like all the usual cliches are available, so why would an aspiring director take up such a lowly recycled piece remains a mystery

for better movies with pearce watch:

The Hurt Locker (2008) just for the visuals/atmosphere (be aware its filled with usa military propaganda & painfully unrealistic)
The Time Machine (2002) some bad acting but enjoyable
    Memento (2000) excellent
    L.A. Confidential (1997) excellent

Interesting to say the least. I think I'd really enjoy this particular one.
I believe it's a re-make of the original "Don't be afraid of the dark' made in the early '70's ----> IMDB Link.

except in this one, it's a young girl that is the attention of the gremlins.
    "God, from the mount Sinai
    whose grey top shall tremble,
    He descending, will Himself,
in thunder, lightning, and loud trumpet’s sound,
    ordain them laws".

John Milton (1608-1674) in Paradise Lost
