not really, none of these are exclusively related to east or west (though there may be recognizable movements within, aka 'waves')

it seems a bit difficult to find a decent classification of horror movie sub-genres, so i'll post a literary classification that may be detailed enough:

    Aliens
    Creepy Kids
    Cross Genre
    Cutting Edge
    Dark Fantasy
    Dark Fiction
    Erotic
    Extreme (splatterpunk, viceral)
    Fabulist
    Gothic (English gothic, southern gothic)
    Hauntings
    Holocaust
    Humorous
    Lovecraftian (Cthulhu mythos, etc.)
Media tie-in (Dark Shadows novels, etc.)
    Mind Control
    Noir
    Supernatural (demons, zombies, etc.)
    Paranormal {investigators}
    Psychological (surreal)
    Quiet or Soft
    Rampant Animals
    Rampant Technology
    Satanic Bargains
    Suspense or Dark Suspense (thriller)
    Weird
    with detailed descriptions:

or use the usual google search for:
    Code:
    site:http://www.sb-innovation.de saw 3d
its the first top result, unfortunately the sbi search didn't work properly in this case (no tags with 'saw' for this thread)

I simply love the Saw series. I have been watching all of them at theaters since the first, and always been feeling anxious around Halloween's day. I'm not too fond of these 3D gimmicks, but will have to add an exception this time. I can agree with some comments on this thread regarding that it's been a bit difficult to enjoy other recent horror films.

I loved the first two saw, then after that I watched all of them just because I felt I had to watch them to see the traps that were created, but I would say noneof them were as good as those. SAW 3D looks so-so.
