Didn't really use public torrents (i was more of a DDL guy), but i got an invite to Demonoid. Built a good ratio up using my shitty connection, got invites to IPT and SCC straight off the bat lol, signed up, did well. Signed up to TL on christmas openings 2 years ago, but got into trouble in real life and got a even shittier connection (less money). Eventually found this place :)
8 years ago, got apartment 150 meters from college...had nice connection 10Mb/10Mb over WiFi for free =)
I use to download torrents 5 or 6 years ago now and i have NO REGRET AT ALL. On the contrary, i am very glad to do it (despite the laws against it...)

2006 according to my Pirate Bay account, though maybe a bit before that since I still remember Suprnova on my 1Mb/s connection.On and off ever since.
since 2010 started with public tracker KAT and ET
and after 5 months joined private
On and off for six years now. And never have I cheated through all this time until last week

I don't torrent as much now as I used to but in place of that I do a bit more downloading from file hosting services. Granted, it is a bit different most especially when the files are not on the file hosting service for very long but if the files are of smaller file size it normally won't take too long.
