"Everything search engine" (you will love it!)

Today i want to suggest you a wonderful Freeware called "Everything".

"Everything" is an administrative tool that locates files and folders by filename instantly for Windows.
Unlike Windows search "Everything" initially displays every file and folder on your computer (hence the name "Everything").
You type in a search filter to limit what files and folders are displayed.

It indexes 20,000 files in one second...1,000,000 files will take about 1 minute.

"Everything" does monitor file system changes

"Everything" can be closed and restarted without missing changes made to the file system (even across system restarts).

Type the partial file or folder name into the search edit, the results will appear instantly.

Its so easy, fast and lightweight....I really love it! Never used Windows-Search since I installed this tool!

I am using it for a quite a while now.
This is definetely a huge win for the windows-users.

Users should notice that it is not a real time search-engine, it uses the partition-table to identify the files on the harddisk.

However, if you use it in gerneral you won't eperience this disadvantage and it could be fully recommended from me.

Does it work with Windows 7 x64??
I remember trying something like this in the past and it kept crashing my explorer.exe.

I dont know locate32 (not that known ?), but I would like to add that users should tick
'Free RAM from database'-feature (in 'Everything') which you can find in the options.

It will dramatically reduce the RAM-Consumption, on the other hand it will take a few seconds more for initializing the app.

I turn off all indexing options as I find it wastes cpu, hdd speed. But i tried the whole indexing thing (Windows) and it does search faster. Everything is dependant on indexing for speed right?

Everything indexes the partition table. Windows indexes each file. That are two different methods.
Everything is much faster, it finds files where typing, even partial strings.
