    Which software (help!)

So the thing is, my cousin messed his PC, again. I just fixed it like 2 or 3 weeks ago and yesterday he called me again. Now it's kind of getting tiresom, cuz he always calls me when I don't have so much time. Can you guys advise me which software should I install on his PC. He has MalwareBytes, but it seems like he doesn't know how to run it right. Any good and easy firewall you might know?

    Hi Yoco,

EDIT: Malware Bytes is just a remover not a RealTime protection like other antiviruses.
so if a virus infected your friend's PC you need a manual remove.

i recommend that you remove Malware Bytes and install Avira. its noob friendly and isn't resource hog.

Any good and easy firewall you might know?
i vote for Comodo Firewall (Free)
Firewall AntiVirus Software Free Download from Comodo

Avira is a specialized Anti-Virus, of course its better, with RealTime protection..
you might need to compare those three and see which one suites your friends :

    AVG
    Avira
    Avast

EDIT: malware bytes also have RealTime protection but i doubt its better than Avira

I bet you should have an IPT account, download symantec endpoint business edition 12.* from there , its a scene release this Antivirus also has a builtin firewall which is highly customizeable using few clicks. and protect you from almost all latest cyber threats and spywares and virus .. but it take little more resources as compared to other firewalls but give you extra security.

Then his friend will call him again:
"The antivirus stopped working/isn't updating/expired, come again yoco please?"

thats why i recommend Free Ones.

I recommend some softs for noobies but that are also good.
So i would recommend AVG as an antivirus, free edition is good.It is a very paranoid anti-virus, wich means that every keygen, crack etc will be spotted as a virus,Better this way than an antivirus who might not recognize a virus. Also Comodo as a firewall. It's free and vey good.
Or you can just use AVG or Avast but craked editions so he can have firewall and anti-virus.

As a anivirus Microsoft Security Essentials (it's a service is a memory hog), Nod 32 or Kaspersky(slightly overestimated) or Avira would be my recommendations.

As supplemental protectionto antiviruses: Spybot + Malwarebytes' Anti-Malware.

For firewall maybe PC-Tools antivirus(Free) if paid and very simple and transparent but paid Look n stop OR Outpost Firewall Free.

    @Michai
    paranoid anti-virus
most of anti-viruses have now overeating heuristics - any means packed .exe(special packing for exe files to be smaller - like uTorrent is a bit bigger than it looks, and to hide what is inside - debugging/ reversing/hexadecimal edition=hex; most known and free exe packer is UPX) is for anti-viruses potential threat(if it is packed with special technique we might never know what is inside) i bet you want to know more so i give a link:

yeah go for microsoft security essentials and if this happens often i suggest symantec ghost or something alike to make an image which can be restored to working state in matter of minutes :)

I'm gonna try Avira and Comodo. And I think he has Nod32 allready, but I'm not sure. The thing is, I told him a gazillion times what to do and to always update his protection software, but he never remembers. I guess that'll do to you when you're depending on someone else
