you know, I 've never heard of smuggling on the Corsican coast before, but suppossing how close the African continent is to Europe via the Mediterranian, I believe that this would make sense with respect to illegal immigrants and the smuggling of them over to Europe.
No doubt, the smuggles collected the 'goods' and just took off after they fulfilled part of their bargain to move the illegal immigrants to the European continent. Leaving them stranded and wondering wtf to do now......France's minister for immigration, has said a search was on for the smugglers who left over a hundred refugees on the French Mediterranean island of Corsica.
No doubt it won't be the last either. The ocean is a big place. Radar can detect moving objects and I am sure that the Navy or Border Patrol from the Corsican or any other European state try thier best........Some 124 refugees were left on Friday morning on a beach in southern Corsica, according to local police.
Officers said it was the first time that illegal immigrants were able to land on the island.
It happened here to once in Canada when Tamil refugees landed on the soil. One of the many questions posed is wtf to do with these refugees??
It cost's money to house, feed them, provide health care to them, and process their claims for refugee status.
Refugees come to countries for various reasons. There's economic and political status for refugees as an example. Some refugees are tortured in their home country and most obviously seek legit asylum.
It's in the Human interest to serve it's fellow man. It's a demonstration on how humankind displays compassion and deliverance from fear, for it's own species.
But then there's the unscrupulous kind that take advantage of the fact that people seek help from where they come from.
There's also the element of corruption in their home country. I made a News article recently about Zimbabwean's leaving thier country for life elsewhere across the border into South Africa.
In this particular case, it was corruption that forced Zimbabweans to leave their home country and seek a better life elsewhere.
I don't know the true reason for these refugees in coming to Corsica. Maybe it was to find jobs and send money back home. I really don't know.
Maybe it was corruption from where they came from.
If it was corruption, there's many people to blame for that of/c.
Illegal immigration is abundant in all parts of the world. There isn't a single spot on earth that is in the 1st world domain that isn't immune to illegal immigration.
Australia is widely known for detaining illegal migrants in detention centers and housing them there for a very long time.
Detaining illegal migrants costs a lot of money.
Feeding them and caring for them cost's a lot of money too.
I realize that housing, feeding, and caring for illegal migrants costs money. Tax dollars to be exact.
Your tax dollars to be even more exact.
But it's within the human psyche to help out it's fellow human being isn't it??
Not to take advantage of as was most obviously the case of the smugglers.
