My ISP is throttling Bittorrent traffic

    Hello,

i've noticed that my ISP is throttling bt traffic in -Day Time- , at night i get full speed.

so is there is any way to bypass this ?

i'm getting 12kB/s on Ubuntu torrent.

btw Encryption is enabled in uT and in Vuze [RC4] but no luck...

    thanks

Are you sure it's throttling you're looking at? Consult other people on your ISP to make sure.

Otherwise you can only change port and turn on encryption like you already did.
Some ISPs have nasty habit to throw you into junk group when they see you're a big downloader. Then you have to share bandwidth with other big downloaders so even tho there is no shaping you still get crappy speed. In that case you can only change ISP.
    Thanks

i don't think this is possible as i'm already behind a limited plan, i'll move to a new isp when the cable covers my area..

but i hope there is a solution for this .. now

What about uTorrent 2? UDP might work on public torrents or Demonoid.
    Thanks

Try bitcomet in daytime. If this happens with this one too then it's the isp for sure.

It's a good idea, and it works on private trackers too, if you use my mods You'd need to set bt.transp_disposition to 15 (TCP+uTP) during the night, and to 10 (uTP only) during the day. Good luck!

Well, when my IPS was throttling my connection (isn't doing it anymore), that it helped me, to have only one torrent running and with a max connected seed of 10 or less. So I basiclly tryed to ban/kick all the peers with poor upload and tryed to download from seedboxes only.
Don't know if it helps, but it solved the problem for me.
Used Vuze extr mod (ofcause )
    Thanks

    Called my ISP and said,

"its to give fair usage to all customers"

and no anon, uTP isn't a solution, it worked for a few minutes then it got throttled again..

If your ISP is using Sandvine, it will be very hard to get around it. It will keep sending reset packets to all your peers I believe so they will disconnect from you. Theres tutorials on how to bypass it, but none of the methods work. Comcast was using this method until it was ordered by FCC to stop so now they put a monthly limit. Try installing Teredo on uTorrent, it was made to bypass the throttling.
    Thanks

it'll be slowed down on that port.
