Since Opera is abandoning the Presto in favor of WebKit (not news), thus clipping the diversity available in terms of rendering engines and turning the program into a Chrome clone (just download the latest Opera Next build and tell me if that doesn't look like a skin), it seems I have to look for a new browser. Chrome is not an option because at one process per tab, even an NSA supercomputer would run out of memory at my command. Firefox had those memory leaks making it unusable after days of runtime. Internet Explorer 10 has that awful sub-pixel font smoothing which can't be turned off.

Currently surfing Sourceforge to see if any of the "alternative" browsers available fulfill the same role as Opera did throughout the years: a fast, all-round decent one.

    Thanks

That's what I've been doing for now. But eventually it would become too old or unsecure to keep on using.

Your only good alternative is firefox.
    Thanks

  8. #10477
I would switch from chrome but like anon I haven't found any alternative yet. I like chrome for it's speed but it's not very stable and eats up way too much memory.
    Thanks

Nothing in the torrent world now is for free , Actually the number of respectable trackers is being lowered every single day .
Trackers like ptp , btn & others are all about the money , if a member on a tracker sneezed the ban note will be something like this

The basic idea of the Bittorrent aside from the original idea from my point of view that it was to share without expecting anything in return as many public trackers do .
I know someone will say the costs of servers & maintaining the website alive but do they actually need 3000 euros/month for a server !!!!!

Many Trackers Admins are doing so just to maintain a type of life style where they can buy stuff for themselves ...etc , i'm not against building a profitable business for anyone but at least don't be greedy when asking to donate and it actually doesn't end in that way since there is invite selling within trackers or forums that actually sell trackers like ftn & others for high prices . i've seen an invite for ptp for 20 euros & other rare trackers with 100+ euros/invite but do they actually deserve that attention or is it worth it to pay cash for something that trivial .

Just like File Sharing with the lifetime premium account , will you actually guarantee that hosting site will be alive for how long ? (ex: Megaupload , fileserve ...etc)

Finally , I hope to see more respectable trackers out there because we actually need a place that isn't pay2dl (Basic idea of pirated stuff )
    Thanks

essentially, not one file-sharer shares without expecting anything in return (they have various expectations, ranging from a simple personal satisfaction with their activity, what it brings, how useful it is, their status within the community, the response they get from the community,..., to the possible financial gains, etc.) - but then again, this applies to every single human activity as well

q: so why do you share?
a: i like doing things like that
    there's your expectation: 'i like'

wysiwyg, it won't get much better than whats currently available, many trackers had years to become respectable, however the end result often leaves much to be desired
    Thanks
