Namebench - Open-source DNS Benchmark Utility

Namebench will test a list of available DNS servers and bench them to generate some very nice graphs and stats and let you know which one is the fastest for you. It is free, very easy to use and supports Windows, Mac and Linux.

If you happen to live in Buenos Aires, remember that EVERYTHING goes through Telefonica so guess which one will be the fastest DNS

PS:I am posting this as there has been a lot of fuzz about Google's DNS and how using it will make your connection go as fast as if you owned a satellite, changing your life forever while it cures cancer and kills terrorists.

    Enjoy!

    nice. Damn nice Desodorante.

I like how this also incorporates other DNS such as OPENDNS too.

    Oh, oh. Better use LINUX.

What I actually like the most about it is that it SEARCHES local DNS Servers so you do not end up testing a server across the world. In my case, my ISP's DNS is 76% faster than OpenDNS, the 2nd fastest DNS available for me.

I just finished testing OpenDNS against my ISP's name servers:

Complete, 208.67.222.222 [208.67.222.222] is the best.

    Oh man this is awesome!
    Thanks desodorante!

I'm always looking for the fastest DNS servers, since the latency of my connection is so high. Every little bit helps
