I've been reading about ophcrack which gets windows passwords, and he uses like a master password.

The router's password is stored on itself. You'll have to either guess it, or use the reset hole/button on the back to clear its settings (which will be easy to notice).

You could also do something like installing a small keylogger in your machine and ask him to access the router because "the Internet is not working", but I'd suggest you explain your father how connectability status doesn't really matter when it comes to getting infected, except on exceptional cases (a threat taking advantage of a security hole you either haven't applied the patch for, or for which there is no patch).

Furthermore, normally you should only need to forward one port (preferably between 49152 and 65535) to be connectable.

I meant he uses the same password for everything. So if I get his windows xp password, I have the router password as well.

It's just a bummer that I have no idea how toget ophcrack working with them dumping of SAM or something...

But yeah, I plan on finding the password. He uses most of the usage i get each month anyway on movies and stuff, and I never get to see them. So it'd be nice to copy them when I get the chance. A while back I even let set up a home network where he has access to my C drive, but I don't have any access to any parts of his computer. I'd like to change that.

Normally, once you give it full access speed should be the same as if the firewall wasn't there.

No, it's the opposite - you may have to do some extra config if those are turned on

Then why is your username "GotIt"?

For DHT you should enable the "Destination unreachable" ICMP message. It's not necessary, but it's better if you do. Refer to the Comodo documentation on how to do this.

For UPnP (I guess you're using this to alleviate the aforementioned connectability issues), make sure uTorrent can also access your LAN apart from the Internet.

Kaspersky all the way, I guarantee you will be much happier.

Sygate use to be one of the best. However, they were taken over by Norton some time back, and I truly doubt the firewalls effectiveness anymore.

I'm not realising the effect Comodo really has, but I might just stick with it for now.

And heh, I got into the router What I found was some weird port 80 forwarded on my static ip... I paniced and instantly deleted it. I kind of do wonder what it is now, but it seems to have unthrottled my speeds a bit. Might have been someone trying to keep a cap on the amount i use.
