Vuze Change Log

Installation:
1. Download and install Azureus (if this is a Beta/CVS update, download the latest NON BETA release) (Azureus : Java BitTorrent Client - Download).
2. Optional: If you want to make a backup of your old Vuze version. Go to the install directory and rename Azureus2.jar to Azureus2.jar.bak
3. Extract the RAR using WinRAR (WinRAR archiver, a powerful tool to process RAR and ZIP files) or equivalent to %PROGRAMFILES%\Azureus (C:\Program Files\Azureus) and overwrite ALL files.
4. Run Azureus and Enjoy!

Troubleshooting:
Before posting problems please make sure:
1. You have updated Java Runtime Environment (JRE) to version 6 (Java SE Downloads).
2. You have removed the Azureus folder in %PROGRAMFILES% (C:\Program Files\Azureus).
3. You have removed the Azureus folder in %APPDATA% (The folder may be hidden).
C:\Documents and Settings\<username>\Application Data\Azureus for XP
C:\Users\<username>\AppData\Roaming\Azureus for Vista
4. Reinstalled Azureus using the package from Azureus : Java BitTorrent Client - Download
5. Re-applied the hack from the downloaded RAR.

Warning: Performing steps 2 and 3 will wipe your torrent list and Azureus settings.

Single Exe version (All in One)
Single Exe version doesnt need Vuze installed on your PC just download, extract and run the exe. Only java is needed to be installed.

Additional Info:
You can upgrade from a previous version seamlessly - your torrent list will not be lost.

I'm having problems with the single exe version. I don't need any other version of Vuze to be installed, right? I have uninstalled my old version, and made sure there were no traces of it in the programs directory, and deleted the folder in \appdata\roaming. (I'm using Win 7, 64-bit). I have updated my Java as well. When I double-click Azureus.exe, the hour glass comes up for just a bit, then... nothing. It re-creates an Azureus folder under \appdata\roaming but that's all it seems to do. I've searched, and also read all 39 pages of this thread. Any ideas? Already tried re-booting...

Yep, the single .exe version worked fine when I used it in a XP 32-bit virtual machine. I had hoped to not have to leave the VM running all the time. This new 64-bit machine of mine is causing more headaches that it's worth... Hopefully a new version will run in a 64-bit environment. I was trying this single .exe version because the official (non-SB-I) version keeps crashing my computer.

So you want this mod due to the single EXE version, rather than the features it adds?

Try reinstalling java. I have W7 x64 and both the official Vuze and VEM works

I wanted to try the single .exe version because the other one wasn't working for me. The "official" Vuze and the two SB-Innovation versions kept rebooting my computer. So it's something with my computer... I use the extreme mod at home (and I love it), but I was trying to get this going at my work computer. I don't need all the extra features here at work, so I've just ended up installing uTorrent here for the few torrents that I need to get :( I can't afford to spend any more time on it. I've had quite a few problems with this Win7 64-bit machine... I don't know if it's a 64-bit problem, or perhaps I just got a lemon.

Thanks, yes, I also tried reinstalling Java. Just one more reason I think it's not this program - my computer is just a POS.

die single exe version braucht keine vuze installation. einfach runterladen, entpacken und starten. mit der anderen version kannst du eine bereits installierte vuze version updaten.
