    Underrated movies.

Hi guys , which are the movie(s) you think are underrated or those movies which never surfaced to the limelight?

One movie which always comes to my mind is John Carpenters : The Thing ..

Those of you who haven't watched this amazing piece of work from Carpenter, then do watch it asap .. and hey if you have a dog in your house/room then make sure you watch this movie along with it. Trust me, you won't regret it .

So tell us which are the movies you think are underrated.

    Regards

I don't know if this movie is really underrated, but I like Disturbia very much, a thriller inspired by Rear Window.

i never had the feeling this movie was underrated (i agree its a good one), especially since it came out a few years after the famous Halloween - i imagine many people were interested in his subsequent movies - now, when mentioning Carpenter i would say that In the Mouth of Madness (1994) was underrated, yet a very interesting & entertaining movie with Sam Neill

    another one i remembered is:
James Clavell's Shogun (1980) - this is a lengthy adventure (miniseries, which i recommend, as the movie version is way shorter) set in Japan with Richard Chamberlain

Oh, ya, man. definitly Logan's Run. Totally a classic. I would have to agree.

Here's one that I recently found to be a good one: Les filles du botaniste
    "God, from the mount Sinai
    whose grey top shall tremble,
    He descending, will Himself,
in thunder, lightning, and loud trumpet’s sound,
    ordain them laws".

John Milton (1608-1674) in Paradise Lost

Road to Pedition maybe? I remember it's a very good film and I know many people who didn't watch it.

ok, guys its going off topic:

    Serendipity (2001) 28,228 votes, 3 nominations

Road to Perdition (2002) 74,899 votes, Won Oscar. Another 17 wins & 51 nominations

also if you check the starring actors, no way these movies can be called underrated

^^ I was afraid someone would come up with that. When I mean underrated, I like to think of a film who isn't frequently commented by folks, and when I said "Road to Perdition" I mean just that. With talks to close friends, few of them has actually watched it.

Disturbia - good first half, until the neighbor 'hunt' began - then it all broke down with one scene less believable than another, quite disappointing with such obvious script holes

Logan's Run - interesting view of the future, a bit old fashioned but enjoyable

The Boondock Saints - watched it some time ago, imo uninspired and overrated
