    An interesting trial

    Perhaps one of us ?

A women received a demand for 700 euros after an anti-piracy company claimed she had shared pornographic material on the Internet. However, she was using a so-called ‘leecher mod’, which means her P2P client never uploaded anything. Now a court is calling for an expert witness to dissect the supposed evidence against her.
Lawyer Dr. Wachs has kindly given the woman 3,000 euros towards the expert but a further 2,000 must be raised via donations. Hopefully this amount can be achieved as engaging the skills of the expert witness will provide a golden opportunity to see exactly how these systems operate and have their shortcoming revealed in court.

You're right, check my edit ^^

Would be great if the remaining 2000 euros could be collected. We'd finally get some insight on how anti-piracy programs exactly work. Those groups seem to have a tendence to use dubious tactics. Like "if we saw your IP you're guilty".

wouldn't surprise me, its all part of the business plan (some would say the whole legal system is designed that way), in most cases they count on file-sharers being unable to pay for court/trial fees or afford independent experts, so they hope for a quick settlement...but more and more p2p users are giving them hard time, refusing to 'bend over' and take corporate bullsh*t...the customer wishes come first, users have clearly shown what they want and how they want it, and the industry is very well aware of that, what they are trying to do is to regain control over the situation, they better 'ante up' their think tanks fast or the digital age will run them over and completely shatter their already obsolete revenue system
