The IPs that you will use/have used on the tracker and front-end are still available for browsing through the administrative toolbox by a administrator of above(by default). I would imagine that verifying the email address at initial signup from a different IP range would make your account last longer at least. It seems the main emphasis is put on the validation IP, the other are only referenced if there is any suspicion.

No. LOL, actually I am still banned from what.cd from a few months ago. I will give it another smarter try one day.

I get to see all that is typed in a gazelle tracker's disabled and support channel on IRC and also I get to see what "torrent celebrities" talk about in a popular tracker forum. Otherwise, I have no direct experience.

One day ......LOL No, I could never go to the dark side

    <joke> Offer what.cd buffered staff account </joke>

They shouldn't, although perhaps you should have used another port. If they suspected your new account was a dupe, using the same port as the other one when there are 65000+ to choose from is a bit suspicious.

Did you use a proxy or similar, by the way?

    I keep the same port : 443

maybe they see the same port...
next time i change my isp too ^^

Unless that was a joke, changing your ISP is a good idea, too.

@wixieza, is there any chance you could've tried to load an old .torrent file from previous account, on your client, using the new account?

Or had an already loaded one... when I got banned from What.cd, I deleted my passkey from resume.dat to avoid this.

I didn't reload an old torrent of course
and changing my isp is an oportunity, i'm moving
but i found my error it was really basic

usually i use firefox 3.0 and then 3.5 for my first account, with automatic coockies deletion and all private information at closing application

i didn't notice in FF3.5 the parameters of automatic deletion have changed! so it keeps some informations

i just changed browser for the inscription and first browsing on what, next day i re-use FF, and in the hour i was banned.

    So, utorrent wasn't involved

On 2 occasions my What.cd account was disabled . And both the times it wasn't for cheating but for trading on FST. The first time my acc got disabled i went on their IRC and asked them, the staff there said that he found me trading and even showed me the thread. But what confused me is how did the staff find out! because i don't use the same user/pass and i have dynamic ip!.So i Pm'ed the FST staff about it. FST staff replied saying that other traders also facing the same problem. Someone on FST is harvesting IP addresses and the method they use is very sneaky and almost impossible to detect. How they do it is! They will show you a picture (It could even be their sig or even a ratio proof). When you see the picture you will not be able notice anything odd about it, but actually that picture has a script running. And this script records your ip addresses and then this person sends the list of ip's to the what.cd staff. And if the ip matches they disable the account. I even asked my cousin who is a web developer (for the past 7 yrs)about this and he said its quite possible using PHP scripts

I think that perhaps your computer loads the external image from a host that records the IP address that loads it. It is also common that a person is invited and they use the same username or imagehosting account in the forums and they disable the inviter of that user as well.

Didn't Melvin try to use that here to get us banned? Host a picture on the tracker, put it in your FST signature, spam as much as you can, and check which IPs have downloaded that image.

That's why we're only allowing a few image hosters in our board.
