Codecs are a real innovation but I prefere MPC HD + FFDShow (can decode HD Audio too) + CoreAVC :)

Have you tried ffdshow_tryouts? It can decode a lot more formats than the vanilla ffdshow.

if it is about playing HD contents the coreAVC all the way but for average users it is nice to have a player like VLC player at least they don't ask you what should i do now to play this file :) personally i prefer to use TheKMPlayer

die sind mir mit den neuen Versionen in letzter Zeit etwas zu schnell lieber noch etwas warten bis alle bugs behoben sind, dann erst eine neue Version einstellen...

it's a great player and after years of 0.x.x the 1.0.0 version is really a milestone, but i prefer mpc home cinema.
