Easily delete files that are in use and locked with Unlocker 1.8.7

First of all let me tell you that this is a pretty old application (released mid 2008). Most of you probably already know about Unlocker but I'm posting it here since it's a must have utility for every Windows user. How many times have you come across one of those annoying error messages such as 'file cannot be deleted since it's still in use by an application' or 'cannot delete folder : it's being used by another person or program', when trying to remove an unwanted file or a folder from your system. With Unlocker, you no longer have to cope with such errors. Unlocker is a small software capable of identifying and terminating processes that have locks on files.

OH, yes. This is such a good little proggy. I came across this program from a friend of mine from over the internet a couple of years ago.

It really does unlock what-ever program is holding up another program.

    Highly reccommended. :)

I first found it through an old version on a custom Windows 2000 rip filled with tools. It is indeed a great free tool.

It's a nice little tool, I mostly use it to delete avi files in windows. I guess windows likes to read meta-data in the background, so this tools is handy at these times!

Or show a preview - there was a registry tweak to prevent this.

the only thing that disapoints me about it is that when clicking in the tray icon, it doesn't pop-up as would other proggys.
But I guess right-clicking is actually sufficient.

There's a comparison table at the author's Web site, perhaps you can find the other app's name there.

Unlocker is a very helpful app.
Been using it a couple of years.

I tested another like it at the beginning. Can't remember it's name though.
    Unlocker was much better.

I remember using a context menu addon called "Who Lock Me" that showed you which programs are locking a file, perhaps that was it for you too?
