OK, enough unfortunate or otherwise negative Microsoft news for today. Let's instead focus on something good, like how the company is donating the equivalent of eight meals to the Feeding America Network for every completed download of Internet Explorer 8.

The program, called "Browser for the Better," is connected to those wacky Dean Cain IE8 commercials that launched earlier this month.

I do like the philanthropy aspect of this marketing scheme, though that's exactly what it really is.....marketing to grow, sell, expand...etc..etc..

doesn't matter, when its for a good cause and doesn't expect large involvement or annoyance (just downloading for a few minutes) its a respectable move and i support it


when i think about it, if all companies used a part of their marketing budget for noble causes we would likely be living in a better world

I have downloaded it too, even though I may not use it. Anyways, Bill Gates and his foundation are sure doing their bit to help the underdeveloped nations, and is presently actively involved in a lot of eradication programmes
