    azureus ~70kb/s
    utorrent ~80kb/s
    bitthief ~150kb/s
    Awesome! That is great news.

BTW ghostfucker, did those uTorrent clients kick you out because they IDed your client as BitThief, or even after some client announce modification?

    well, that's a good question.

Though I was generally asking if it would be looked into since it is the current theme of things here, at least from what I understand.

Maybe not from uT specifically, though maybe from this current client.

Honestly I was quite impressed with the speeds along with the multiple per torrent settings which would generate an awesome bit-torrent experience, but since it doesn't consume any real resources while connecting to any swarm, eventually I would call it a cheating tool standing in the beta phase still on which hopefully more future stable fixes & tweaks should be implemented to insure a safe ride.

It is probably good idea to get permission. However, if code is obfuscated as mentioned before then could it be called "closed source" like utorrent? You might say the principle is same.

I think it could be cool to propose a joint cooperation with the makers of BitThief, but I won't go as far as asking for permission to cheat with it

Well, BitThief itself already has an option to send a fake share ratio.

Could you give us more information on which torrent you are downloading?

Did you try it on another torrent / tracker?

Limit the amount of connections. Also, BitThief uses random ports for new torrents, you'll need to forward those.

Regarding the arabic torrent name, could you PM me the .torrent so that I can have a look at it?

isn't there an option to use just one specific port?

    Regarding the arabic torrent name
a solution may be to download the arabic .torrent file, rename it to a non-arabic name and then load into BitThief - the contents of the .torrent file should remain the same and thus functioning properly

Yes, I suppose that could work too

But the filenames inside the .torrent won't.

I wanted to check if I could change them but this will most likely change the info_hash too.
