Yes! Changing your MAC and disabling JavaScript are extreme measures, but when reregistering at a tracker, always clear your cache, cookies, etc. and change your IP.

I don't think that they, at least Bitme.org, are difficult to rejoin.

For example, if your account gets disabled at bitme, you can always go to thier IRC and have it re-enabled via yoiur profile info that is always a good idea to take either snapshots of or have in an HTML type of document when you first sign up.

with regards to ip changes at what.cd (and any other trackers that have strict rules/good scripts),

does the ban on ip change only happen for uploading/downloading or does it also apply to logins too?

i've only just recently got my what account and i've logged in from a few different ips, but only downloaded via one. the isps i'm logging in with are different, so i'm clearly not at one location - do you guys reckon i have a ban on the way..?
    Thanks

I assume you logged in with ISPs of the same country?

If so, I did the same sometimes and got no ban but don't count on it.

When logging in for sure. Some trackers don't care about announce IPs (I can download SceneSound torrents from a banned country), but don't rely on this - if they detect it, they'll ask you why you gave "someone else" a .torrent with your passkey.

From what I understand, most accounts there are disabled due to inactivity.

that's what I read on thier forums.

But don't let that fool you. They do have a dedicated staff for rooting out cheaters.

Yes, I know that, and that they have a very dedicated team to catch cheaters.

What I meant is: you've stated that if banned at BitMe, you can always go to their IRC and have it re-enabled "via your profile info". But is that so when you're banned for inactivity, or for cheating?

    disabled for inactivity
. For this, yes (at least from what I understand), one can have his account returned to him/her in the Help channel in the IRC.

    For being a 'bad-boy' for cheat'in?:
    No.
One cannot have his account re-enabled, then. Even if you give them chocolate cake with strawberries on it. They'll still say 'No.'

And the reason why some people don't get banned for cheating is because it's anti-cheat scripts are just 'plain-jain' scripts. At least, that's my opinoion.

Just b/c it's higher level site, doesn';t mean it's a super-max for getting caught while cheating.
That doesn't mean that you can't be caught. It just means the probability may and does exists that you can be caught and you'll have your tongue fried for it.

    That's what I mean.

Just as I expected... thanks for the info.

Cake isn't enough, and same goes for being an 80+ week old donor that's been banned after their scripts picked up Vuze's auto-update as cheating. Some people think they really deserve all the cheating they get.
