What's happening?

Yesterday, we began experiencing unusually high load on our primary site server. While attempting to fix the problem, the database crashed. We have been in the process of recovery since last night, with all of our sysops and developers working on the problem. We are also in contact with our host, who is confident that there has been no data lost. Please bear with us.
