This is an interesting thread in the sense that I consider SCT and FTN (though similar in content) to be entirely different sort of sites.

FTN is a ratioless friendly tracker, with a good sense of community and medium to good speeds. Harder to cheat on, but you really don't need to. All you need to do is simply seed for a long time and they really don't care what your upload is.

SCT (I'll put more in the appropriate section) are a bunch of twats, real grade A arseholes, with no sense of community but the fastest speeds in my opinion online. Also the easiest site in the world to cheat on, all you need to do is use your noggin' and you can have Seed Whore status in a matter of a few months.

It's a question of what you want from your tracker, to compare them though in my opinion is entirely unfair as they are different things. If you want to compare FTN to anything, pick GFT.
    Thanks

Are you sure? Check the "cheating on FTN" thread - the Waffles method with 5MB/s seems to work fine.

Agree with the rest of your post, though. Although perhaps it's better to wait until GFT gets good pretimes on non-porn content before comparing

Well, if you need security, leeching from FTN (a community-based tracker) may be safer than TL (150000+ members).

But if you don't and aren't interested in tracker communities, you'll be better off with TL or ScT.

What I meant is that they're level 8, and only have 5000 spots. This makes it harder for anti-P2Pers to get in than at TL, where they have over 150000 users and invites are often given like candy.

yeah thats true, but with that many ppl idk i thought it would be easier for the Anti-P2p ppl to shut the site down rather than going after each individual. O.O
    Thanks

They can't directly shut the site down, since it doesn't host any files nor it is located in the US.

agencies have tools to monitor the connections. they don't have to be a member to spy on the connections.
also in some countries the isps cooperate with the gov.

Yes, but if they don't connect to you and a file transfer starts, it's harder to prove you uploaded/downloaded anything. Also, monitoring your connections without your consent is an invasion of privacy.

And depending on the country, there may be legal loopholes - if I remember correctly, downloading copyrighted material is allowed in Spain, for example.

of course, just wanted to point out that a "hard to get in" tracker can still be dangerous
    Thanks

Because of the reasons he mentioned before that post?

    Now stop spamming.
