The movie itself may be insulting enought, but I think more importantly they, and a lot of people in other regions, just hate americans.
not really, the movie was just an excuse and for some extremist group any suitable excuse is good enough to launch their pre-planned response (same goes for a governmental response or any other organization that plans their course of action in advance) - in the meantime they make sure to mobilize as much supporters as possible (which may range from allies to ordinary gullible citizens) so that the impact of their action increases in magnitudeQuote:

Guys,arabs do not hate americans,you should KNOW MORE about the middle east by making PERSONAL researches and reading some NEUTRAL,SINCERE SCHOLARS' opinions about Islam and Middle EAST,but If you listen to THE MEDIA,you will definitely be MISLEADEAD.
After all,The person who lit this spark of violence,anger is an Israeli who produced the film,and I think that you already know about the conflicts between arab and Israeli people.
Anyone will get hurt if someone else attacks his own religion,but anyway,all this stuff is a political trick,mess,or I don't know....

The problem lies in people who protest just for the protest (not to mention the allegations by Morsi Of Egypt about paid-protesters), they remember Denmark's cartoons and started comparing this incident to the old one:
'It's the "west" striking again with a WHOLE movie, we must do something'
then start protesting.
It's really unfortunate that these protestors didn't know that the movie isn't existent, only a 13min trailer is published.
About killing the US Ambassador, this isn't right, afaik, an Islamic teaching prohibits killing peaceful presence like Embassies, and other citizens within the islamic country with different or no religious,
but this is another story (the barbaric/misunderstood application of Islam).
Anyway, what would you really expect from Libyans? they're armed people, they've been under violent reign for decades and have got ridden of it by violence,
do you expect them to have PhDs in Human Fields and discuss things quietly with a cup of hot tea with an AMERICAN (concentration on American) Ambassador (or even know what that even means?) ??
tl;dr version: education plays an important role in decisions, thanks to the US' wars/puppets, not all ME countries are receiving proper education.

as a finishing comment: the whole response to the 'trailer' is just sad, and represents how a single spark is widely believed and acted-upon by a whole lot of what I (and others) considered as an educated portion of the society we live in,
the best response was to simply ignore, aren't Muslims after peace ? and Mohammad was a messenger of peace? why prove to the west that the movie make was right?

It's core has got weaken and it's falling under it's own weight. The teachings of Islam has largely forgotten and ignored. Muslims have even worked out a way to kill Islam yet to remain Muslims themselves.
Not too far away the world will see the nukes rolling over the Arab skies, it's inevitable, fully deserving.
