This would the place to discuss any printer hardware, printing issues, and other related items.

I'm very new to printers but from what I've been able to gather online, based on my needs, I need a 3-in-1 multi-functional laser printer, that is print, copy, scan.
These, as you can image, are very expensive to be bought as new but once you do get one, a minimum of 10 years you'll have an easy time. Now, does anyone know of a place where these can be bough as refurbished and have international shipping? I couldn't find anything in my country since, with covid and government forced restrictions, people exhausted all the web cams, printers, laptops and the stocks have not been replenished.

Anyway, printer manufacturers follow the razorblade model as we all know, so whether you choose ink-jet or laser, make sure to evaluate the availability and quality of continuous ink systems or third-party toner cartridges (respectively). The former are cheaper in the long run, as are the latter if they fulfill the "quality" requirement: toner spills are extremely difficult to clean, and accidental inhalation is as healthy as it sounds.

When I worked at HP my boss told me "obviously we're always going to plug our own products, but most alternative supplies out there range from mediocre to bad", but that was for a single brand, and 9 years ago.

You mean, refilling toners is a health risk? Because I'd like to do that as well.

Not if done correctly and carefully. But a cheapo cartridge may break and barf toner all over your printer's internals and desktop (after removal), which is basically the complete opposite of that. It won't fill your room with a black cloud of death, but you'll have a puddle of very fine, light and toxic particles... not a great combo.

My eye is set on HP Envy Inspire 7220e AiO. I just need someone to tell me it's really good printer/scanner! :smile:

This one has print, copy, scan and full duplex on them. it is very expensive but I'm hoping to catch it as second hand somehwere.

All products will have good and bad reviews. My advice is to check the ratio, look for those that say it isn't a really good one and why, then decide. (I'm having a flashback to that time I was surfing for a certain USB stick, and 90% of reviews claimed the plastic cover came off when trying to unplug it... needless to say, I didn't buy it.)
