yo how r u both? whats new?
I'm kind of going through a depressive cycle since I'm on winter holidays and have no work and no motivation to do anything else. :wtongue:
An effect I've observed in this forum over the years: on long-standing release threads with a "click Thanks to see the password" block, there's a strong tendency for people to also thank the posts immediately after the first, and the last one at the end of the page.

My cousin gaved me his old computer and I've made another huge jump. From low end components manufactured in 2008 all the way to high-end 2010 components.
As a result, I now have an i7 870s 2.53Ghz, p55a chipset motherboard, 8GB DDR3 RAM and an ATI 5770 1GB.
I received them saturday night and I'm very happy with it.
I would advise all of you (those that have 2012+ hardware) to stay away from these coolers:
Hydro Series
They can leak and cause short circuits and they are not compatible with all PC cases (even though it specifies).
Master Razor,
I'm actually a bit jealous right now! ;)
That's an stellar upgrade, especially considering you got it for free. :top:
Anyone have any idea about where are all mule developers? :D
I've kept my old computer as a backup and it had the folowwing:
MB : Asus P5KPL/1600
CPU : Intel Pentium E5300, 2.6 GHz Dual-Core, SK. 775
MEM :2GB / 2 x Corsair XMS2 CM2X1024-6400C4, Dual-Channel, DDR2 800Mhz
Video : Gigabyte Radeon HD 5770 GV-R577UD-1GD, 1GB GDDR5 / 128 Bit
And also changed the PC's name. I'm sort of a maniac when it comes to things like this. The old one was named RAYNOR (yes, from starcraft) and this one I named it DIJKSTRA.
A couple of years before I registered here I had only my compaq deskpro pc 5200MMX and was underage to get a job. Money was scarce so everything I had was very hard to obtain. I had many components to spare and had an option to either sell or give them to someone that really needs them. I chose the first option, money was good but I couldn't buy newer components because of the cost. The price you get for used components is half to a quarter of what it is worth on the market if you're lucky. In short, I sold every spare component and spent the money on nothing.
Last year I started to help others by giving some used but good components. Ever since I gave it away I've been receiving help from everyone I know and even a few strangers. Like this time with my cousin, last year I received some other stuff from other people and I wound't of finished college this year if an amount of money hadn't popped up from a relative of mine.
These kind of things never happened to me in my entire life. And there were worse situations when I really need something and I never got it. Could this have anything to do with those donations? I can't really explain it.
I still give away everything I have to spare because it fells the right thing to do. And I feel good when doing this. Sometimes I wish I had more to give.
Well, they do say that was goes around comes around. :gsmile:
Generally, I tend to hoard stuff, but not because of selfishness - I just miiiiiiiiight need it at some point in the future, so let's keep it! This habit tends to carry over to my RPG characters, who haul tons of items under the same reasoning (my, it's true that people make these a small reflection of their own lives).
Have given a few things away, but typically don't have a surplus of PC parts/gadgets to begin with.
I'm planning to move by the end of this year though, so I might have to get rid of some things in the process.
Think really hard, you never received anything?Quote:
but I've never seen anything in return, like in your case.
