If memory serves me right, there was a time when uTorrent would forget all peers if you removed the tracker URL for a private torrent, to deter ghostleeching. Hence requiring this fake proxy, a patched executable, or the usage of a older version. Since they've removed that behavior afterwards, now it's just another method.Quote:

PS: By the way, what happens if you remove tracker's url but you dont complete the torrent? Would be safe to announce again later to get the peers and become ghostleecher again? I guess common sense should say NO?
